Story
🐾💙 Hello there! My name is Finnegan! 💙🐾I'm a 3-year-old, 14-pound Rat Terrier/Pug mix, and while I may be a little shy when we first meet, there is a whole lot of love hiding behind this sweet face. Once I know you're kind and I can trust you, you'll see just how affectionate and loving I really am. 🥰 I came to the shelter after being taken in as a stray by a very kind older couple. New situations can make me nervous, and loud noises, sudden movements, or strangers trying to pick me up can be overwhelming. I don't need anything fancy—I just need a little patience, calm reassurance, and time to feel safe. Once I know you, I become an incredibly sweet and friendly little companion. I especially adore my people, and I have a soft spot for older folks. I think I'd be happiest in a calm, mellow home where life moves at a comfortable pace and I can relax with the people I love. 🏡❤️I'm also a pretty fantastic little gentleman when it comes to my manners! I'm fully house trained and even keep my crate clean. I walk wonderfully on a leash and absolutely love going for car rides. 🚗🐾 I get along great with other dogs, too! I haven't been tested with cats yet, so that would need to be determined with a proper introduction. When the weather is nice, I love running around outside and enjoying some fresh air. But after I've had my fun, there's nothing better than coming inside, finding a comfy bed in the air conditioning, and settling in for a nice long nap. 😴 I'm not the kind of dog who needs to be the center of attention from the moment you meet me. I'm looking for someone who understands that the sweetest relationships are built on trust. Give me a little time, speak softly, let me come to you, and I'll show you just how much love I have to give. If you're looking for a gentle little companion who will blossom into your best friend once he knows he's safe, I might just be your perfect match. 💙🐾📞 You can call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me. I hope to meet my forever person soon!****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Basil is a female tricolor chihuahua/rat terrier or similar mix. We estimate her to be 2 years old and she weighs 7-8 lbs. Basil is spayed, vaccinated and heartworm negative. She is ready for adoption. Basil was surrendered to a Louisiana shelter along with several other dogs 2/12/2026. Basil remains the most skittish and nervous of the group. She is sweet because she has been pushed to her limits of being scared and will not bite if approached carefully, but Basil will need time patience and safe containment while she learns to trust someone in a new home. Basil is a precious little girl with beautiful facial expressions and a happy way about her once she relaxes. She gets along well with her sister Sage and they could be adopted together if someone is looking for a pair, but we also think they can thrive separately given the right opportunity. Basil is dog and cat friendly. She is also potty and kennel trained. Adoption fee is $250. Story
Molly is a very sweet dog. We rescued her mother who was pregnant when we got her. She is a very agile dog and would be able to do cool stuff with some training. We have 4 dogs and she does very well with them. She has lived her whole life in our 2 acre back yard. I think she would do fine with other dogs after the initial meeting. She does not have any aggression toward the other dogs. She does have some anxiety when taken out of her territory ( example-to the vet) our fault that she hasn’t been out and socialized. Again I tiink she would be fine after an initial warming period. She is happy and healthy, unfortunately we are moving and are unable to take our dogs with us. I am hoping to find a loving , caring home for Molly! Please consider
