Lilly wants nothing more than to be with her people and a warm blanket to snuggle with. She loves laying on you lap and being held. She does have limited sight but gets around new places fairly well. She gets along with other dogs but not cats. Her best day consists of snacks and snuggles. She doesn't mind dressing up in sweaters. Lilly came to us very under weight and we discovered she is diabetic. With proper treatment Lilly is already doing much better! She is gaining weight and acting like she feels so much better!Lilly loves to sleep in bed with you and her foster mom says she is the best ❤️🐾.

'Sup peeps? Have you ever wondered what an American Bulldog/Rat Terrier looks like? Well, it looks like ME, Marshall! It looks like 20-pounds of scruffy-in-some-places, not-so-scruffy-in-other-places cuteness! I have short fur; I have wiry fur! The humans say I'm a funky lil' fellow but they also tell me how ridiculously obsessed they are with me. And being the true Velcro dog that I am, I would love to find an adopter where someone is home the majority of the time. I just love, love, love affection and attention! I don't know what the word "stranger" means. Everyone is my friend immediately. I want to greet each and every person that I walk by. As far as other furry friends and kiddos go, as long as they are nice to me, I'd love to be their furbrother! I want a home where I can be with someone a lotta the time! It makes my puppy heart sad when I am alone because I'm such an extrovert! So, an apartment setting probably isn't best for me and I'd love it most if someone was home often! Let's become a fam! Scruffy’s soulful eyes tell a story of a hard past, but he has a hopeful spirit of better days ahead. He was caught after running free in an Indianapolis neighborhood for 4+ months, visiting with neighbor dogs and eating food that people left out for him. After a few rough days, the shelter sought a foster for him to decompress.  It is clear from his comfort in the home that he was once someone’s pet. He is both potty and crate trained and very food motivated. However, he is fearful of people that try to get too close or touch him.  He tolerates his face touched and allows an occasional nose boop, but all other touch is on his terms. He needs a home that will accept that he may never be a lap dog, but can still be a great companion.  Scruffy is a 20# terrier mix that is roughly 2-3 years old. He is a playful guy. There isn’t a toy he doesn’t want to drag out if the bin and scatter around the house, or a bone he doesn’t want to try out. He loves being with dogs about his size; both to rumble and cuddle.  He walks great on a leash and moves pretty darn fast for a guy with short legs. A secured fence is a must for Scruffy as well as another playful & confident dog in the home.  Scruffy is fully vetted & his adoption fee has been sponsored.  Applications for adoption are at www.trackingintheshadows.com.  Please live within 1 hour of Elkhart, IN. Story

Gertie is a 10 month old Terrier/Gremlin mix 9LBS.  How could someone resist those sweet ears right?  Gertie is every bit a puppy and absolutely loves to play. She is loving and affectionate and is learning to love life in a home. We are currently working on housetraining and crate training, and she has been quite the quick learner!  She loves both dogs and cats, but can be a bit fearful of dogs that are bigger than her. Gertie would be just fine being an only dog as she becomes very attached  and faithful to her person and can spend long amounts of time in their lap. She is also learning to not resource guard her human against other humans in the home.  Continued training will be needed.  She has done great on a leash, but definitely needs a fence as she can still get spooked by loud noises. Gertie came to us fearful, but has quickly become trusting and obedient.  She is super smart and we can’t wait to see her blossom in a home of her very own. Gertie is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and up to date on prevention.
