Story
This adorable girl is Lexi! Lexi is an approximately 1-year-old female Rat Terrier / Chihuahua mix who weighs around 10-12 lbs. She was surrendered to the rescue for chewing on a couch. Lexi is a total love bug! She is sweet-natured, friendly, affectionate and playful! One of her favorite things is being with her person/people and showering them with love and kisses! She will be an awesome companion to someone! Lexi is good with other dogs and cats. Although her foster has no children, she was incredible with them at the last outreach. Probably older children would be best due to her small size. Securely fenced back yard required! She requires another dog, her size (up to 20 lbs.), in the home. Lexi has adjusted to a puppy pen with friends when the foster is gone. She is doing much better with her house-training (probably 50% there) and is learning about leash walking (we highly recommend a harness for better control). Lexi is spayed, vaccinated, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Lexi go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application to apply.

Story
This adorable girl is Ellie Mae! Ellie Mae is an approximately 3-year-old female Dachshund/Rat Terrier who weighs around 7-8 lbs. She was rescued from a small shelter in Oklahoma. Ellie Mae is a friendly and playful adult dog, who is affectionate, loyal and will be a heartbeat at your feet. She loves to play and run around and would enjoy a home with a yard. Ellie Mae is happy to just be sitting in your lap! Ellie Mae is not a fan of cats and has not been around children, so she would be best in a home with children 8+. She also makes a game of trying to grab your feet when you walk. She is a wonderful little dog and a great companion. She would love to snuggle up with you on the couch and keep you warm with her furry body. If you are looking for a loyal companion, Ellie Mae might be the perfect fit! She needs another playful dog in the home. A secure stockade fence and a home check is REQUIRED! Ellie Mae is crate-trained and house-trained to a doggy door. She will need assistance with leash training. We recommend a harness. Ellie Mae is spayed, current on vaccinations, HW negative, current on heartworm preventative and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Ellie Mae, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application.

Millie has a yellow collar! She started out as the runt of the litter but what she lacks in size she makes up for in attitude! She is the first one to do anything and everything from trying solid foods to unpacking her Easter basket! She is a very loving, cuddly, bubbly, puppy! She loves to play tug-of-war and is typically seen with a toy in her mouth. She has a voice and is happy to use it!

Story
Zoey has been with us for many years due to her little quirks but has over come so much. She came to us with a malformed urethra which caused her to have constant UTIs. We had that repaired which helped with infections but she couldn’t control her urethra as well as a completely normal female so she has little leaks at times. It seems with age that has improved. She very very seldom leaks at all anymore. She absolutely loves to be outside BUT she absolute hates gunfire and fireworks. She will jump any fence to get out of her yard to get in the house from loud noises. She is VERY protective of her people and love love loves to play ball!!! She kennels well though it’s not needed. She does well on leash and loves car rides. She gets along well either way others as long as they don’t hog HER ball.
