Hi, I’m Maverick. I was a very skinny boy when I first came to Illinois from my home state of Kentucky. I’m slowly gaining weight in my foster home and learning about living life inside a home. I am crate trained but do appreciate the couch or a human’s bed to sleep on, it’s so much more comfortable than the cold, hard ground I once slept on. I heard my foster Mom say I play hard but I also sleep hard – all night long and enjoy a good sleep in cuddled under the blankets. Playing with other dogs is a favorite past time, meeting new people with a tail wag, going to work with my foster Mom – behaving in the office of course, exploring forest preserves and going to dog friendly stores. My perfect home would be one with an owner that likes to be outside, takes me on lots of adventures, car rides, and dog parks because I need and love to run! If you are looking for a handsome gentleman with the love for the outdoors and people, I am your guy. He’s a stunning Redbone Coonhound/American Foxhound mix with a heart as big as his floppy ears. Boomer may have limited vision; one eye has no sight and the other only partial, and he may also have hearing loss. But none of that slows him down or dims his joyful spirit! The vet says he’s perfectly comfortable and can live a happy, normal life. Boomer is a cheerful, loving boy who’s ready to share endless hugs and affection with a family of his own. Could you be the one to give this special sweetheart the forever home he deserves? All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. Story
Lincoln is a 2 year old redbone coonhound! Lincoln is the mushiest and goofiest sweetest boy. He was bought as a hunting dog and his hunting partner recently passed unexpectedly and Lincoln is ready to be a couch potato. He has NO aggressive tendencies, loves other dogs, kids and is friendly with cats and other animals. He has been around horses, sheep, pigs and chickens. He is a gentle giant. His house skills need some touch ups but I’m sure he’ll learn quickly. He’s okay on a leash but is used to simply tagging along. Lincoln is a mid- maintenance dog. He was born with some shoulder defects that began showing at about 1 year old. He is not on any medication. Vet doesn’t believe surgery would be helpful but thinks that it may cause him some discomfort. There is no way of knowing how/ if at all these defects will affect him as he gets older. A couch to sleep on, and a yard to lay out in the sun would be best for him and we would love to help him find that home!

This sweetie was picked up following a post person because she fed them. Very sweet, friendly and happy, she has the typical hound personalities!! Lily does tend to hang back a little and see what's going on around first. She likes to play and does well with the pups she is with right now. She will need all of the puppy training along with leash work. She is just a great puppy ready for a family to go on adventures with. She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.
