Story
EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. March 19, 2026, 12:17 am

Story
Our pretty little Coonhound/Lab mix girl is called Patty Cake and she takes after her momma who is mostly a beautiful, gentle, Redbone Hound mix girl.  She was found as a stray and soon gave birth around April 1st in a small rural county of Tennessee where stories like this happen much too frequently.  Patty Cake looks much like her momma with a beauitiful black face that has intense eyes that draw  you in when you look at her.  With her adorable floppy Hound dog ears, soft brownish grey coat, and gentle yet playful personality, she's impossible not to fall in love with. All Patty Cake wants to do now that she is in her very generous foster home, is to play, snuggle on your lap and to eat some much needed extra meals to put on the proper weight for a 4 months old puppy.  Born in a litter of nine puppies, she came to Critter Cavalry Rescue underweight because food had been scarce in her previous home. She's now on the road to catching up on her healthiest body weight and has discovered the magic of so many toys that she is finding it hard to play with ALL of them at the same time.  She is happy and joyful now that 4 meals are provided daily and she even has a few other dogs that might just consider being her playmate friends once they get used to her long Hound dog legs leaping and running around them.  They are spoiled Miniature Poodles.... oh my!!! This sweet girl has an incredible temperament that is total affection, with a little touch of shyness at first and a love for lap time cuddles. Hattie is also impressively smart—she learned to use pee pads almost immediately and has found out what crate time can mean in the way of privacy and a place to reflect and be still! She enjoys meeting new people, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is even cat-friendly. Because she's an active, curious puppy, she'll do best with a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore and play. We expect Patty Cake  to mature into a stunning adult weighing approximately 45–50 pounds.  If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion with beauty, brains, and a heart of gold, Patty Cake may be the perfect addition to your family. To learn more or apply to adopt Patty Cake, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  Transport is available to many northeastern states, and we also adopt to residents of Tennessee.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 4, 2026, 12:35 pm

Story
Hattie has already overcome so much in her short little puppy life, and now all she needs is someone to love her forever. Born around April 1, this precious Lab/Redbone Hound mix puppy came into the world as one of nine beautiful babies born to a sweet Redbone Coonhound mix mom  who is now spayed and settled in her forever home. Sadly, food was scarce where they started life, and little Addie arrived to the Critter Cavalry Rescue much too thin and right started a rebuild program to put on more puppy weight and to enjoy all the puppy chow she wants during 4 meals a day. Despite everything, her spirit has never stopped shining and her curiosity has not been dimmed about the new life around her. There isn't a sweeter puppy than Hattie. She greets every person with a wagging tail, a hopeful heart, and those irresistible floppy Hound ears and sweet eyes that dissolve your heart. She makes everyone smile. Such a gentle soul and seems to believe that everyone she meets is there to be her new friend. She along with her littermates are amazingly smart and she has mastered pee pad training in no time.  She is ready to learn more new things and to understand more about why it is important to know how to be crated. She loves other dogs, is wonderful with cats, and enjoys making new human friends of all ages. Her soft, blonde coat is as beautiful as her heart. One minute she's racing across the yard like a tiny gazelle, soaking up every new adventure, and the next she's curled up beside you, perfectly content to snuggle close. Those quiet cuddle moments are her favorite. We expect Hattie to grow into a gorgeous, athletic girl weighing around 45–50 pounds. She would love a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely run, play, and simply enjoy being the carefree puppy she's always deserved to be.  Every puppy deserves a happy beginning. Hattie didn't start out that way—but her story is far from over and we have promised her and her littermates that they will get the best families that can be found.  Somewhere, her family is waiting. The family who will show her that she'll never wonder where her next meal is coming from, that she'll always have a soft bed to sleep in, and that she'll be cherished every single day of her life. Could that family be yours? If your heart is telling you that Hattie belongs with you, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to learn more about adopting her.We transport to many northeastern states and also adopt to families throughout Tennessee. Give Addie the happy ending she's been waiting for—and she'll spend a lifetime making you grateful you did.
