Mingo just celebrated his 8-week birthday on April 12, 2026, and he’s so excited to find his forever home! He’s set for neutering on May 28, 2026, which means he’s available to Rush County residents as a Foster-to-Adopt. If you're outside the county, you can become a GOLDEN adopter and take him home today!When Mingo first arrived, he was a little feral, but our amazing staff has been helping him understand the joy of human companionship. He might be a bit shy at first, but with a little patience, he truly opens up and enjoys the love and attention. Mingo is ready to embark on this beautiful journey with a caring family! Let’s help him find that special place!ADOPTION FEE: LOCAL $100 NON-LOCAL $140Kittens are ONLY available to our Rush County Residents or Golden Adopters on the Foster to Adopt program if they are not fixed. If fixed, they are available to anyone.All kittens receive at least 1 FVRCP vaccine. All animals receive a flea and parasite prevention/treatment and will be microchipped.All animals can go home the same day as adoption. We will need your photo ID and you will sign some documents. Adopters will also receive a copy of the animal's medical history to date. We do not do an application process. All adoptions are first come, first serve. We do not offer holds.

Meet Mystery! The mystery is believed to be a 2-3-year-old Russian Blue mix. What a sweet shy boy. Just lacks confidence in every way. But given the time and space, he's the best! He can be hand-shy at first with humans but comes around eventually. He is her affectionate playful nurturing cat. The mystery was a stray cat in the neighborhood that a little 4-year-old girl fed and loved since kitten. She fed all the kitties daily on her front lawn. One day Mystery showed up with a fractured leg. The neighbor's dog had gotten him. It took 2 months to trap him, but he made it. By the time we could trap him his leg healed wrong. The only option was amputation. We decided not to proceed with it unless he showed an inability to use it or appeared in pain. We have not witnessed either. So he heated his leg. Here we are 18 months later and he's doing great. His best buddy here is Ace. They tend to stick together and lean on one another. They are not bonded at all just best buddies. Mystery cannot be an only pet. He needs a buddy. Whatever species as long as it's friendly and allows Mystery to lean on them for support, comfort, and loving. Mystery is fully vetted spayed and up to date on all vaccines. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Samurai (Sammy) is friendly, affectionate, and playful; has a doglike purrrsonality!  He's 7 years old, neutered (male), microchipped, and current with all recommended vet care (which included recent tooth removal and a root canal!!). He had been a companion to someone who had serious health issues & couldn't keep him anymore, so was taken in by a good samaritan to help find him a good home. He's very easy-going, laid back, accomodating - he recently attended a huge adoption event riding in/displayed in a large pet stroller - handled it like a champ - got lots of attention & petting & then took a nap! Samurai still has his nails and regularly uses a scratching post.  His foster family will only consider adopters willing to keep his nails and keep him indoors.  He does great with his litter box and is easy to care for.  Call or text Tracy @ 812.560.8071 for more information regarding Samurai.  (References and home visit are required prior to adoption.)
