Story
Hootie is a very loving and affectionate cat. He is only 3 years old and is well behaved and smart. He really acts more like a dog than a cat. He greets us when we get home from work and follows us around the house. We are sad to have to rehome him but he would prefer to have someone around during the day to love on. We have busy work and travel schedules and he does not like to be left alone for extended amounts of time.

Story
This stunning kitten, Elara, has both beauty and heart. She’s affectionate, playful, and thrives on human connection. A scarred cornea has left her with some vision loss, but it hasn’t dimmed her spirit in the slightest. She’s confident, joyful, and full of charm - proof that a small imperfection only makes her more special. Unsure if she gets along with dogs as she has never met one. If you're looking for a loving companion to bring energy and warmth to your home, check out Elara! To meet her, fill out an application at waalrescue.org/adopt.

Story
Meet Sterling—5 years old, 13 pounds of love, and the reigning international champion of head-butting, purring, and full-body hugs. (He also excels at lap-curling, so technically he’s a four-sport athlete.) He’s even won awards for his striking good looks—because of course he has. Sterling has never met a stranger. To him, every person is a potential best friend, and most cats are too—with a proper introduction, of course. Dogs, he’s a little unsure about, but who can blame him? Life as a former stray teaches you to be cautious around the big barky things. He has tested positive for FIV, which simply means his immune system is a bit compromised—not that he’s fragile or doomed. He absolutely is not. Many FIV+ cats live long, healthy lives; one of his foster’s friends has a 16-year-old FIV+ companion going strong. Please take a moment to learn about FIV—knowledge is power, and in this case, it’s also love. Sterling is impeccably groomed, has perfect litter box manners, enjoys being brushed, and politely tolerates nail trims. He’s affectionate to his core—every moment with him feels like a tiny treasure you didn’t know you needed. Oh, and catnip? Big fan. Playtime? Even bigger fan. I can’t say enough good things about Sterling. He’s sweet, steady, stunning—and this close to being absolutely purr-fect.
