Wasabi is a playful, confident boy who brings a ton of charm and a little spice! He adores toys, loves romping with other cats and even dogs, and is always ready for a good game. Fair warning: he plays enthusiastically and is still learning what is considered “too” rough. One of his favorite activities is hide-and-seek—he’ll sneak into a cozy spot, wait patiently, and then jump up & out with a triumphant “gotcha!”, then scamper off hoping you’ll give chase. If you can eek out a little squeal when he gets you, he’ll be even more delighted. He loves to be on the receiving end of this game, too. He will jump straight up as his version of a squeal. As bold and silly as he can be, Wasbi is also a loving, polite companion cat who enjoys following you around the house and quiet time for snuggles. He came to Proverbs with an old injury to a hind-leg that had not be treated. He’s a calm, sweet-natured kitty who grew up in a single-pet household, so he’s not sure how he’d feel about other animals just yet. He hasn’t spent much time around small children either, but his personality is very gentle and easygoing. He’s a pretty chill guy who doesn’t get into much mischief. He loves being petted and is a big fan of being brushed. While he doesn’t enjoy being held while someone is standing, he’s absolutely a lap cat—and if you lie on the floor, he’ll happily climb onto your stomach or back for some bonding time. He’s not obsessed with toys, but he has his favorites: little toy mice, ribbon-like toys (especially white ones), and his absolute favorite… a rolled-up grocery bag. He’ll bat that around for hours! His foster likes to call him an extroverted introvert. He enjoys being near his people and hanging out in the same room, but he doesn’t need constant attention. Cozy blankets are his weakness—if there’s one on the floor, he’ll claim it, and if even a corner hangs off your lap, he’ll curl right up on it.
