Story
Mushu is a truly special boy—both inside and out. This 16-pound gentle giant is a loving, affectionate, and one-of-a-kind companion who will steal your heart with his unique looks and sweet personality.
Though Mushu is FIV-positive, it doesn’t slow him down one bit! Having FIV means Mushu may be slightly more prone to infections or illnesses, but with proper care, he can live a full and happy life. And let’s not forget—he's just as loving and loyal as any other cat! You’ll still get the same cuddles, purrs, and playful moments. Mushu may have a special need, but that only adds to how extraordinary he is. He’s a loving cat who wants nothing more than to be by your side and soak up all the love you can give him.
Mushu's stubby tail—resulting from an injury that led to the tip being amputated—gives him a charming “corgi-bum” look that will make you smile every time you see him. He’s *majestic* in every sense, from his gentle eyes to his laid-back demeanor.
This sweet boy absolutely *adores* head scratches and will happily let you hold him like a giant baby, providing you can support all of his solidness. Except for food, Mushu loves nothing more than being close to his humans. He'll make sure you don't forget mealtime, he’s sure to meow with excitement, but he’s patient too—sitting calmly while his bowl is being filled.
Mushu is currently living with other cats and gets along with his feline roommates. We believe that with proper introductions he could even live with FIV-free cats. Mushu works part time as a "dog tester" when we need to see how a dog will react to cats. When he last met a pit puppy he was so unbothered that he sat and meowed in the puppy's face. Due to his affectionate and forgiving nature we believe he'd enjoy a home with people of any age to adore, including kids.
Mushu is looking for a special, loving home where he can share his heart and enjoy a life full of snuggles, head scratches, and joy. Whether you have other cats or are looking for a one-of-a-kind companion, Mushu will fit right into your home with his gentle nature and majestic presence.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?
The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This kitty you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!
Three Little Pitties Rescue (3LP) wants to set you and your new family member up for success! In addition to a fully vetted furbaby you also receive other additional perks such as a code for a free bag of cat litter AND a code for 50% off a 2nd bag of litter from Catalyst Pet, coupons for a fun visit to Petco, and support through our Facebook Adopters group where you can connect with thousands of other adopters, 3LP volunteers, fosters and staff. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescues and will require continued efforts but are well on their way to being the best kitties that they can be! We ask that you give them time (can take weeks to months) to decompress in their new home, do slow introductions to other pets and let their true personalities have a chance to come through.
We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 14,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
