Story
RUBEN – Male Pharaoh Hound/Staffy Mix | Born 7/30/2024 | 35 lbs | Healthy, Vaccinated & Neutered Meet Ruben, the handsome, bright-eyed boy who’s equal parts sunshine and snuggles! With his expressive ears and a smile that can melt any heart, Ruben brings warmth and joy wherever he goes. He’s playful, social, and absolutely adores being around people. Whether he’s trotting proudly on a walk, chasing his favorite toy, or curling up beside you for a nap, Ruben’s happiness shines through. This boy loves to explore the world but also loves a good cuddle just as much — the perfect mix of energy and affection. Breed Info: The Pharaoh Hound is known for its elegance, intelligence, and playful spirit — one of the oldest and most striking breeds in history. Combined with the Staffy’s loyal and affectionate nature, Ruben’s mix makes him a devoted, joyful, and fun-loving companion. He’s smart, eager to please, and has the heart of a true family dog who will bring endless love and laughter to his home. Owner Responsibilities: Ruben will thrive with an owner who values routine, kindness, and active companionship. He’ll need regular walks, mental stimulation, and time to bond with his people. Continue positive training, provide a balanced diet, and give him the love and patience he deserves — and you’ll have a best friend for life. Things to Consider Before Adopting: Before bringing Ruben home, take a moment to reflect on what it truly means to adopt: Do you have time for daily walks, play, and attention? Are your living arrangements stable, and is your landlord pet-friendly? Are you ready for the financial responsibility of food, vet care, and grooming? Do you have a secure yard or plan to provide structured exercise? Are you ready to commit for his lifetime — through moves, life changes, and all the love-filled years ahead? A dog isn’t just a pet — he’s family. Make sure you’re ready for forever. Vet Care: Ruben is healthy, vaccinated, and neutered. Even though he’s in great shape, it’s important to take him to your trusted vet soon after adoption to establish ongoing care and keep him thriving for years to come. The 3-3-3 Rule & Commitment for Life: The first 3 days are for decompressing — everything is new, so give him space, comfort, and reassurance. The first 3 weeks are when he’ll start learning your home, your routine, and your heart. The first 3 months are when trust blossoms, and he’ll know he’s truly home. Remember: adoption is a lifetime promise. Be patient, love deeply, and you’ll watch him bloom into his best self. Why Ruben Would Be a Great Addition: Ruben has a heart as golden as his sleek coat. He’s that once-in-a-lifetime companion — loyal, funny, affectionate, and endlessly grateful. He’ll fill your home with joy, laughter, and the kind of love that only a rescue dog can give. Every wag of his tail says, “thank you for believing in me.” If you’re ready to be his forever person, Ruben is ready to fill your life with love. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Story
There's nothing quite like young dog energy and silliness...and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These very loving and sweet as can be dogs are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them alone and hungry on busy urban streets or at a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia due to a lack of space. Junie, at just 1 year old and 32 lbs was facing the end of her life before it ever really began. Farfel's rescue partners are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this gorgeous girl with the great temperament..they rescued Junie just in time to spare her life. Junie is starting out with great energy. The excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a brand new life. She's also gorgeous...with golden eyes displaying wisdom far beyond her years. Junie has the potential for a stunning and shining non-shedding (or very lightly-shedding). Her hair is currently shelter-tired but once on a regular protocol of care, it will be cottony-soft and shining with great health. Junie will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition. New research is clear that fresh, human grade food is the best choice for dogs. It offers a healthier option that results in fewer vet visits and the nutrition needed for a longer life. Farfel's choice is Chi Diet (chidog.com) for the gift of excellent nutrition for your dog. Junie is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's also so loving and cuddly. Our sweet Junie would be very excited to be a couch or bed potato and snuggle with her favorite people at the end of an active day. She's also SO smart and very engaging - very typical of the Schnauzer and Sighthound breeds. We're open to Junie finding her forever home with an energetic retired couple or individual with the desire to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart pup. Junie enjoys her relationships with all humans and dogs. We would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment by young kids will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Junie enjoys her relationships with other dogs as well and would love playing hard and then enjoying the sunshine together on a beautiful day. This 1 year old (an almost perfect age..old enough to be past babyish behaviors and young enough to have many, many healthy and active years ahead) and 32 lb cutie-pie (a great size for long hikes and then snuggling close all night long) truly lights up when she feels like she's done a good job. Some serious belly rubs and kind words will send her over the moon. Junie would love nothing more than to be a family dog and with a bit of post-shelter confidence and love, she will be overjoyed that she's finally found her forever family. We are searching for a very loving and involved family for Junie. This sensitive girl wouldn't be happy being alone for the long hours of a full-time job outside of the home. A family that works from a home-based office to love Ellie up periodically throughout the day would be perfect for this wonderful companion. Active, dog-crazy retirees would also be an excellent match for this girl that has so much love to give as a full- time best friend. Junie doesn't require another dog to be happy. She loves her people dearly and if they're attentive and loving, this sweet and loyal girl will be fulfilled and very happy. If a gentle dog is already part of a family, that's great with Junie as well. She enjoys her time spent in the company of a gentle and playful canine and that dog will become Junie's best friend. Junie will do well with any loving guardian who's invested in spending time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure. It can be a leisurely walk socializing with neighbors, a picnic in the park or a visit with family or friends. A car ride is also always fun, especially if it leads to a fun, dog-loving spot. At day's end, a spot on the bed all night beside her favorite humans will speak to the loving nature of this very sweet dog. Junie will be up to date on her vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. She will also be spayed to fulfill our commitment to zero population growth in the canine community. Junie will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 7/1/2026. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Junie please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving puppy. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
