Story
Hennessy is low key kind of guy who goes with the flow and enjoys hanging out in my living room and sun bathing in the court yard. Not a mean bone in his body and he understands English quite well! He was living life at the end of a chain when several young women intervened in an effort to rescue him, and then he disappeared — quite apparently he had been dubbed in the neighboring city and through Facebook he was tracked by kind strangers who posted his whereabouts until ultimately found just a couple of days ago . He has been vaccinated, dewormed groomedand is scheduled for neuter . For additional information call Lydia at 714-357-8405 . If this listing is still posted, we are still accepting applications. We do not do out-of-state adoptions. We do not hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog, please visit our website to complete an adoption application. It is in the ADOPTION folder at the top of our home page. Just fill in the blanks and SEND. We commonly receive multiple applications for a single dog. Nevertheless, only one applicant will be invited to meet a dog at a mutually agreeable appointment day, time & place. Usually Petsmart Yorba Linda or our Santa Ana location near South Coast Plaza. All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, full sets of core vaccinations (rabies and 1 set of distemper/parvo for adults, 4 for puppies) and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc.

Story
Archie is 3 years old and is the most cuddly boy with excellent manners. He is potty trained completely and will sleep through the whole night and ask for belly scratches in the morning! He loves a morning and evening walk and constantly checks back with you to make sure you’re keeping up! He likes to have the backyard, but most enjoys just being with humans and taking walks! Archie is very gentle and practically licks a treat out of your hand. He is a dream while being groomed and prances around after! With a standard introduction, Archie is great with cats! He is also very friendly and social with anyone who says hi to him and especially loves seeing other dogs!

Story
Meet Kaiser! Kaiser is a gorgeous and energetic boy looking for a family that appreciates silliness and unconditional affection. He is about 4 years old. Here’s what his foster says about him: “We have been fostering Kaiser the past two weeks and we just adore him to pieces. Kaiser is playful, active, confident and teachable. Perfect for someone looking for a walking/running/hiking buddy. He is extremely human-friendly and would flop over for belly rub anytime anywhere. Kai is very food motivated, loves hoses and sprinklers, a very gentle eater, is fully crate trained, housebroken, doesn’t play fetch and doesn’t appear to have any separation anxiety. No issues with kids as far as we can tell. ❤️ But Kai gets jumpy and reactive when there are cats/lizards/squirrels around. He has a very strong prey drive and the wolf in him goes full throttle when he senses a potential prey is near. This means Kai would do best in a home with no cats or small animals, though he may do fine with the right dog. Moreover, he needs plenty of space to roam. His ideal human is someone who is patient, physically strong, understanding and knowledgeable in helping him manage his prey drive.” One of our volunteers has been spending time with Kai and has brought his samoyed along plenty of times and they got along great. He also did well at the shelter with some dogs. This is why we’re calling him dog-selective. If you’d like to meet Kaiser, please submit an adoption application on our website 🦴🐾 His current foster is leaving the country in 3 weeks so we would love to find him a home before then!

Story
Meet Sadie! Sadie was rescued from a situation of severe neglect. We don’t know much about her history but she was picked up by animal control while running with a pack of other dogs. Her coat had some of the worst matting we’ve seen and her teeth were worn down flat - she had clearly been living outside for many years. Now, she’s healthy and feeling so much better. She’s in a foster home and has started to show us the real Sadie. Sadie is unsure about new people and takes several days to feel comfortable. We are working with a trainer to help her learn that people are safe. We don’t know if this will be a forever thing, or if it’s temporary, but as things are right now she is very uncertain of new people. She does growl and show teeth when she doesn’t know you. But once you’re in with Sadie, you’re IN! She is a total love bug! She loves snuggling and getting belly rubs. Some words from her foster fam: “Sadie is such a caring dog. She absolutely loves to bring her little toys around and squeaks them when she's excited or happy. She's super playful especially when there's food involved. She loves to play catch when you throw food in the air and sometimes if you're lucky, she'll get the zoomies. Once she loves you and gets comfortable with you, she'll check in on you randomly just to give kisses. She loves to cuddle and will stay by your side all night. While she is alert with strangers, the moment those strangers are no longer strangers, she's the sweetest dog ever and will trust you like no other. She's a super curious girl, and loves exploring outside, often looking over at the squirrels while her ears wiggle into bunny ear mode. All she needs at first is a little time and space. But it certainly helps her bring down her walls a little faster when chicken or deli meat is around. She loves working on playing catch, then before you know it her sweet and cuddly side will slowly come out. Finally once she feels safe, she will give you all of her love and enjoys belly rubs and ear scratches the most. She also secretly knows shake, lay down, and sit.” Sadie would do best in any home that can provide love and patience. If you’re interested in learning more, submit an application and we will set up a phone call and then meet and greet!
