Gator was surrendered due to change in the family circumstances. He is such a well behaved and friendly guy. He loves humans! He isn't sure around toddlers so kiddos over 5 please! He has done well with the dogs in his foster home. He is potty and kennel trained although the kennel isn't required after settling in. He grew up on a farm and protected the yard from squirrels and raccoons, so we are also looking for a home with no small animals! When we first meet, I might hang back a little and take my time deciding if youre someone I can trust. Akitas are thoughtful like that, and Im no exception. But give me a moment to breathe, let me read your energy, and youll see my whole world soften. Once I choose you, I choose you completely.<br/><br/>Ive lived long enough to know what I like, and Im hoping to find a family who understands the unique quirks that come with being an Akita. Im a golden girl now, so I appreciate a calm home where I can relax without too much chaos. Id prefer to be your one and only pet, not because I dont appreciate other animals, but because I feel safest when I dont have to share my space. Older kids-twelve and up-are just right for me, especially those who know how to move gently and respectfully around a dog who values her boundaries.<br/><br/>Since my joints arent as spry as they used to be, a home with minimal stairs would make my days much more comfortable. I still enjoy strolls, fresh air, and being near my people, but Im happiest when I can settle in a cozy spot and simply exist beside someone who loves me.<br/><br/>If youre an Akita-savvy family looking for a devoted companion who will stand by you with quiet strength and unwavering loyalty, Im ready to meet you. I may start off a little shy, but once I let you in, youll have my whole heart.

Hello there, my name is Raven! <br/><br/>Im a beautiful 5-year-old Akita mix with a calm, independent spirit and a quiet appreciation for the finer things in life. Im not one for chaos-I prefer a peaceful home where I can mind my own business and enjoy my space. Id be happiest as your one-and-only dog, but I could also share my home with a mellow canine companion who respects my boundaries and keeps things low-key.<br/><br/>I truly am the finest companion west of the Mississippi. I get to spend my days sharing an office with 2 staff members and they RAVE about me. I appreciate getting my ears scratched when they have time, but I am perfectly content to listen to their phone conversations and between themselves or greeting visitors to their office. They are 2 busy people and are gone from their office too which doesnt bother me at all. I patiently wait for their return. <br/><br/>I only have once complaint about sharing their office. The office does not have any windows. My favorite pastime is stretching out in a warm sunbeam with a good bully stick to chew on. Its pure bliss. Do you have at least one window where the sun shines through? Man, I would enjoy that but no worries if you dont. I will be your devoted companion, no matter what.
