Please read this post in its entirety. Please acknowledge that you have done so. Your response serves as your preliminary application. Please provide the requested information. I cannot stress that enough. I need more than "I want a dog, live in a house, and will love him". You must- read this post from beginning to end. And then again. Introducing Sampson d'Velcro, a 3-year-old Eski ready for a new chapter in his life. This young lad has been well-loved, but the owner is not able to provide regular exercise and engagement. With a weeping heart, she acknowledges he needs more than she can provide. His ideal family will be active, have a secure yard, and be familiar with his breed. BE FAMILIAR WITH THE BREED is paramount! If you do not have experience with this breed, stop here and continue your search for a more appropriate companion. Weighing in at 48 pounds, he could lose a few pounds, easily attainable with some good old daily exercise, brisk walk, and or hiking. Sampson has excellent recall, especially with commands! He has his sit, stay, lie down, back-up, wait, on the money! This fluffernutter gets on with other dogs with a proper introduction and is gentle with respectful children. He enjoys groomer visits and sports his summer cut with a somewhat pompous self. He knows he is dapper, dude. Although he has no balls, as he made his one-time testicle donation, he loves playing toss and fetch the ball. Be aware- just a 10-minute game of fetch or a quick walk around the block is not enough for this breed! He needs mental stimulation and consistent physical engagement. He is not a lawn ornament. He likes car rides; however, he gets excited if other dogs approach while he is in a vehicle. Sampson does not dig, jump fences, or get into mischief. He does not like to be crated for extended periods of time. Sampson is neutered, up-to-date on shots and vaccines; medical records and AKC provided. Tell us about you, your family, your activities, your property, the city you live in, other pets in your home, and whatever else puts you on top. The more information about you, the better. What can this companion expect from you, and what are your expectations of him/her? Additionally, we will not meet halfway. Please prepare to meet in person without hurry, and be willing to have a home evaluation and viewing of your social media. There is a fee for placement to offset medical and care. Age-appropriate placement is at the discretion of the guardian advocate. Please allow several or more days for a response, as I review inquiries. I appreciate your understanding—Raleigh's Rescue Advocacy. *DNA testing is not performed, and we can only give you an assumed breed or breed mix.

Story
Sam is a 2-year-old mixed breed with a quiet spirit and a heart full of potential. This shy girl is looking for a calm, patient, and experienced home where she can take her time settling in and learning to trust.Think of Sam as a dog with a cat’s personality—independent, low-key, and perfectly content lounging on the couch while you watch TV, or soaking up the sun in the backyard. She doesn’t need much, just a safe, peaceful space and someone who understands that love takes time.Sam gets along well with other dogs and may benefit from a calm canine companion to show her the ropes. Fast-paced households or loud environments aren’t her style—she’d much rather curl up in a cozy corner and quietly observe the world around her.If you’re the kind of person who appreciates the quiet connection of a more reserved companion and are willing to let Sam blossom at her own pace, she just might be your perfect match. If you would like to meet me come to Rogue Valley Humane Society!
