Story
Meet Grant, a distinguished Beagle-Hound mix who truly lives up to his presidential namesake. Much like the 18th president, this Grant is a man of the people—he is incredibly social, thrives in the company of other dogs, and believes his "union" with his humans is the most important thing in the world. While he carries himself with a certain quiet dignity, he isn't afraid to address the nation (or at least the neighborhood) with a majestic howl whenever a siren rings out. After a long day of "campaigning" for treats and belly rubs, this sweet boy is just looking for a peaceful place to retire. Grant isn't asking for a monument; he’s just looking for a soft spot to land and a family to call his own.

Story
Let’s talk about Jasper, the big, goofy, ball-chasing, treat-motivated goofball who’s been flying under the radar for way too long.Sure, he might bark at you from behind his kennel door, but don’t let that fool you. Jasper isn’t plotting world domination. He just has a lot of feelings and zero chill when it comes to saying `HEY HI NOTICE ME.` Once he`s out and about, this boy is all wags, smiles, and playtime energy. Jasper may look like your classic black dog, but he’s got main character vibes once you give him a chance. He’s upbeat, social, and loves making new friends. Toss a ball and you’ll have his undivided (and slightly clumsy) attention. He’s a big boy with even bigger derpy energy, and we love him for it. He gets along well with both male and female dogs and would love a doggy sibling to romp around with in his forever home. He’s also proud of his “sit” skills and will gladly drop into position if a treat is in sight.Jasper is fun, full of love, and has been waiting patiently for someone to see past the bark and notice the big-hearted goof behind it. Come meet him and see what you’ve been missing.Jasper is 3 years old and 62 pounds. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated and receive a 90 day flea/tick preventative.

Story
Scar (A564863) arrived at our shelter in rough shape alongside other dogs, but with some care and time, he is now feeling better, looking better, and more than ready for a fresh start in a loving home. Scar can be a little shy at first, but he settles in quickly, especially if you have treats. He already knows the command “sit” and is very gentle and easy to be around. While he does enjoy some playtime, Scar’s true favorite thing is cuddling. He would much rather be curled up beside you soaking up pets than bouncing around, and we can already picture him happily tucked into his very own dog bed. This sweet boy has a calm, affectionate demeanor and a soft heart. He has tested well with female dogs and would be happy sharing a home with a canine companion. Above all, Scar is looking for a home full of patience, kindness, and lots of affection. If you’re searching for a gentle, snuggly companion who just wants to be loved, Scar might be your perfect match Scar is guesstimated to be 2 years old and weighs 45 lbs. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative.Ready to meet Scar? Just stop by our shelter and head to our dog areas. You can find him in kennel D77. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID.
