Please make sure to read the narrative below our pet's photos as you will find a description of our pet with all we know about them, our adoption fee info, and you will find the link to do our online Adoption Application which is the first step in our Adoption Process!     Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application!   Pet Description: Copper is a one-two-year old male Basset mix, around 45 lbs, handsome as can be.  He seems to prefer the company of male dogs better than females.  Good with pigs but not good with chickens as he thinks they are too tasty.  Good with children.  Friendly fella.   DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. Percy is a big chunk of boy - 140 lbs but also needs to lose some weight.  He is housetrained, crate trained and great with other dogs, cats and children.  Likes to sleep on the couch and loves attention.  Percy is a giant lap dog and incredibly sweet.  Why special needs - not really a big deal but Percy is on Thyroid Medication - takes 1 1/2 tabs of 1.0 mg Thyroid medicine/once a day.  This is not an expensive med and tiny pills so super easy to give in food or a treat.  Percy still has years of love to give so who will give this hunk of love a soft landing spot for his remaining years.   DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100.
