Story
It wasn’t the plan but it's absolute perfection that Abbie rhymes with happy. And Abbie is always happy - you will be hard pressed to take a picture that doesn't have Abbie smiling a big smile with her tongue hanging out! With her basset hound facial wrinkles and expressive tan eyebrows, you will be unable to resist Abbie's kisses and snuggles (and we're not sure you'd want to - they're stellar). Her current specialty is knowing how to perfectly sit at your feet, give you a little side-eye with a goofy smile, make you laugh, and then fill you up with love. Her happy-go-lucky way is so contagious! Abbie has been in an all-female foster home for a couple months, so it will take some time (and a few stuffies) to let her warm up to men. Have patience, though, this gentle, clever girl will get there quickly and it will all be worth it. This girl is still on the young side, not quite a puppy, far from being an adult but she sure knows a thing or two. With rescue we are often left guessing a dog's age and breed, and that is true with Abbie. We believe she is about 10 months old and is some sort of hound/bully mix. She currently weighs about 60 lbs and will be a medium/large dog. Every ounce of her is ready for the good life, one with you at the end of her leash, going on hikes, greeting all the people with her happy face and then heading home for an all-out love and cuddle session. Before you fall in love, she does want you to know, her love of stuffies/plushies is real and will be coming with her into adulthood. As long as you are supportive and encouraging of this, she will be the best girl and when you are not available for snuggles she will simply snuggle a stuffie until you are free. We would love to see Abbie in a home with a yard given her youthful energy and love of play. She gets along well with other dogs and absolutely gravitates to the playful ones but truthfully, her love tank could easily be filled by the love of her people. She is a social girl so when you have parties, be ready for all your guests to be enamored with Abbie as she works the room and looks adoringly at each of them. If you have a cat, Abbie promises to be respectful and take it slow. When she met our house cat Tom she was respectfully fearful of him and when she did work up the courage, she retreated quickly when he gave her a swat. We feel confident that she could live harmoniously with a feline friend. Abbie is young and will need continued work on her leash skills and crate training but her attentiveness and desire to please will make training and obedience a breeze. Consistency, a handful of treats, and your adoring praise will have this girl ready for anything. Adopt Abbie and get started on those party tricks and making all the best memories together! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Parker is the perfect snuggle buddy! Found as a stray in Utah, Parker was severely emaciated and in poor condition. He's estimated to be around 5 years old and is likely a lab or lab mix. Despite his rough start, Parker loves to snuggle and sleeps soundly all night at the end of the bed. He gets anxious when separated from his people, so a home where he can sleep freely with his person or in the same room would be ideal for him. Although the Utah shelter reported that Parker showed no signs of being house trained, he has not had a single accident while in foster care. He's been left alone in the house for up to 3 hours without any problems. Due to his past starvation, Parker can be food aggressive and is best fed away from other dogs. He may snatch food or treats, but with patience and gentle correction, he can be redirected. Parker gets along well with other dogs and is good with kids, except when it comes to food. He does have a high prey drive, especially towards squirrels, so a home without cats would be best. Some leash training will be necessary, but he responds well to redirection and commands. If you're interested in giving Parker a loving home, please message PAWS Rescue Inc. for an adoption application. His adoption fee is $300, which includes vaccines, neutering, deworming, and a microchip.

Story
Twice as much love for you, built-in-companions for them, and so much more. That is what you stand to gain with a bonded pair. Charlie and Mable are soul-mates, we do not know how they are connected or if they are related but it is undeniable that the love they have for each other is real. Charlie is estimated to be one year old and weighs 30lbs, and Mable estimated to be a year and a half and weighs 33 lbs. In rescue age and breed are always educated guesses but try to tell me you think these girls are anything other than Basset Hounds. I doubt it even crossed your mind that they could be anything else. Take a look at them in action here and then come back to read more about this cutie-duo. Both Charlie and Mable are great with other dogs but in typical Basset Hound spirit, they are a bit aloof. This isn’t the game-of-chase dog or fetching type. Their speed is much more leisurely walks followed by long naps. They could easily live in a home with other dogs but given they have each other, another dog isn’t needed. If you have cats though, these girls promise to be the best canine friends any feline could want. They are both respectfully cautious and curiously friendly with cats. If they get a warning swat they will not return to try to win the cat over, they are quick to accept a boundary. Mable is incredibly affectionate and is vying for your lap as her favorite resting place. Charlie is friendly and confident, coming in close to welcome you and see what treats you might have to offer. He will even do a cute little dance in exchange for one of those treats. Charlie and Mable, Mable and Charlie… it sounds good both ways. An ideal home for them is one that sees the beauty in their bond, has a home with a yard for roaming and smelling around in. A steady stream of visitors and treats would be a bonus for these friendly cuties. Getting a bonded pair is truly a great way to have it all! Multiple pets, a built-in-best friend and amazing companions. But there are other benefits for you, your family, and the adopted pair, studies show that animals bonded to one another live longer, healthier lives. The bond will also ease the transition. With a partner, and the stability that offers, the adjustment to a new home goes a little more smoothly. The comfort and reassurance they give each other typically means they are less likely to suffer from separation anxiety which is a sigh of relief for everyone. Plus, giving soul mates the opportunity to stay together is personally so fulfilling. Getting to witness that love, knowing your helped preserve and extend it is beautiful! If you have any questions about Charlie and Mable or would like us to test them for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure they ares the correct fit for you and your life! Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions.
