Story
Derby!    DOB: 5/2014    Weight: 50lbs   Oh Derby! I LOVE this little man! His owner recently had to move due to unfortunate circumstances and it left Derby homeless. Derby is a senior man who still has a lot of life left in him and is ready to find a person he can spend it with! He’s house trained. Good with dogs of all sizes and previously lived with a small dog. Ok with cats too! Derby enjoys eating food, going for walks, and being given loads of attention from his people. Owner said he has been ok around kids but keep in mind that he’s a big, stocky boy who can easily knock little kids over when excited. He did wonderful for his annual shots! Derby enjoys having his butt scratched, but he REALLY likes it when you sit there and smack his butt. His bark is also not much of a bark at times either. He got some yard time at one of our recent dog walks and had people thinking there was a dog fight going down. No, he was just screaming and complaining because he wasn’t getting the attention he thought he deserved. Derby will make an awesome dog for someone! Already becoming a shelter favorite.  His adoption fee is $100. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $50 of your fee. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Came to the shelter 6/2023. ***YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BEFORE WE DO ANY MEET AND GREETS. QUESTIONS? Story
Pumpkin!    DOB: 11/2020    Weight: 25-30lbs   Available for adoption....Pumpkin! She's a 30lbs Beagle/Heeler mix who's quite the talker if she's not getting enough attention. Pumpkin is house and crate trained. She seems fine with other dogs. Has been ok with the cats but does bark and want to play with them. So if you have cats, keep in mind how your cats do with dogs. Pumpkin is slower to warm up to people. She gets uncomfortable when new people come in and grab at her neck and try to pick her up. So ideally a home with older or no kids is best. She loves hotdogs! So that's one way to win her over. Pumpkin is not destructive at all, keeps her area nice and tidy. She enjoys being outside. Runs around and plays with her toys for a bit, then makes her way over to her favorite person for some lovins. Her adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you'll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting her please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org .
