Story
Meet Spicy Ramen Noodle! At just 7 pounds, this adorable little poodle mix is equal parts cute, quirky, and endearing. Everyone who sees him falls in love instantly. But Ramen's favorite thing in the world is other dogs. In fact, he is completely smitten with his foster home's resident dog, Hazel, a 70-pound gentle giant who has taken on the role of emotional support dog. Having a confident canine friend nearby helps Ramen feel safe and brave as he navigates the world.
Ramen is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which means his activity must remain limited for now. Because of this, leash training has been restricted to short potty outings during the cooler parts of the day, and he is still learning that leashes aren't so scary.
At night, he sleeps comfortably in an office setup with his bed, food, water, and pee pads. He occasionally uses the pads overnight but generally prefers to potty outside. He travels calmly in a crate and recently impressed everyone by doing wonderfully at the groomer.
Food isn't high on Ramen's list of priorities. He prefers to eat his meals during the middle of the night after everyone else has gone to bed and the house is very quiet.
Because he can be a little difficult to catch when he's feeling uncertain, he wears a lightweight house leash. He allows himself to be picked up and will sit for pets in your lap, although for now he still tends to seek comfort from his canine companion more than us humans.
However, in just three weeks of foster care, Ramen has made remarkable progress. He now plays a game of "touch", running up to boop your hand. If he's relaxing in his bed, he'll sit quietly for pets, and he's recently discovered that belly tickles are fun and rolls over for more.
Ramen will need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. A confident resident dog is a must. With routine, kindness, and a little encouragement, this spicy little noodle is blossoming into a funny, affectionate, and incredibly rewarding companion.
