Story
Meet Mac – A Mighty Little Pup We’d like to share the story of a very special pup named Mac (short for Makenzie). Born the runt of her litter with severe limb deformities, Mac was unable to walk and initially given a poor prognosis. But Mac’s story didn’t end there. Thanks to Scout’s Honor Rescue, she was evaluated by the team at Houston Veterinary Specialists, who believed that with corrective surgery on her back legs, she could have a real chance at a happy, active life. Mac proved them right. With her trademark spunk and resilience, she recovered beautifully from major orthopedic surgery. Today, she spends her days chasing lizards in her foster’s backyard and soaking up naps in warm sunbeams. While Mac’s surgery was a great success, her early deformities mean she is more susceptible to injury and already has some arthritis. She will require a bit more advanced veterinary care as she ages. She also may eventually need corrective surgery on her front left leg. That means she really needs an amazing pet parent, someone who will give her the love, care, and medical support she deserves (and fortunately for us, we know quite a few amazing pet parents)! Mac gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and children, she truly loves everyone she meets. If you think you might be the perfect match for Mac, please click the link below to fill out an adoption application. https://scoutshonor.org/dogs/little-mac-pup  June 8, 2026, 7:21 pm

Story
𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱: 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝗢𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Our friend Otter is looking for his furever home with Experienced Scottie Owners. This handsome heartthrob needs a very special home and here at Wescue, we are committed to finding it. Otter is 4 years old and has already lived in two homes before coming to foster care. He is a very sweet boy when handled properly by people who understand him and his needs. Otter loves to play, especially with a squeaky ball. He will let you throw it for him until your arm falls off and then will come running for more. If you’re not available to play with him, he will happily entertain himself until you are ready for more. Otter also LOVES walks around neighborhood and adventure walks at the local nature preserve. We didn’t see any issues with Otter at all until we visited the vet, where he flipped a switch and we saw a side of him that we had not seen before. Fortunately, one of our most experienced volunteers had taken him and was able to get him outside, calmed down, and muzzled so he could be examined safely. After the appointment, she took him on a special adventure in a nearby park so that he could have a good association with a vet visit. It appears from his previous records that vet visits have always been extremely stressful for Otter. It also appears he had not been to a regular groomer, but rather had been sedated and shaved at the vet. Since he was in need of a grooming, we decided to do the same this time. Otter’s new owners will need to work with their vet to find a plan that works for him and the vet staff to make his vetting and grooming experiences easier on everyone going forward. The next issue we saw was hats: when a volunteer Otter loves entered the house wearing a ball cap, Otter went nuts! Wanting to know if that was a fluke, we’ve tried several times approaching him (in a safe manner) with and without hats. Each time he would bark like crazy at someone wearing a hat (including a hoodie) and calm down when the hat or hoodie was removed. So if hats are a must in your wardrobe, Otter isn’t the guy for you. Age: 4 years old Weight: 24 lbs Dogs: Ok Cats: unknown Children: no Otter has been vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption donation is $500 and includes, 6 months’ heartworm preventative, prepaid lifetime premium microchip registration, and safety harness If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Otter, please apply online at wsrh.com Please do NOT send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large number of inquiries. Story
Meet Robinson! This handsome guy came to wescue after his previous owners could no longer provide care for him. Robinson had some dark crusty skin when he got here. He is better now and we are looking for a furever home that will maintain a strict diet with him to help him looking his best for years to come. Expect large dramatic yawns after a nap, slow walks around the neighborhood to hunt squirrels and birds, and lots of licks after a long day at work. Robinson loves walks but would LOVE a fenced back yard for hunting squirrels. Robinson loves to hunt more than squirrels so he is looking for a home where he can be an only dog with no other dogs, cats, or other animals in their home. Age: 8 years Weight: 20 lbs Dogs: no Cats: no Children: unknown, recommend over 10 years old Robinson has been vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption donation is $400 and includes 6 months’ heartworm preventative meds, prepaid lifetime premium microchip registration, and safety harness If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Robinson, please apply online at wsrh.com Please do NOT send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large number of inquiries. Story
Jango is a great companion. Jango’s an approximately 10-year-old 18lb terrier mix. He thoroughly enjoys walks, is inclined to follow his owner around the house, and fine around dogs his similar size or smaller size, often ignoring them. However, his primary issue is his tendency to form strong attachments which can lead to protective behavior. We have found that using a water spray bottle helps to calm him. At adoption events, Jango tends to bark at larger dogs walking by, prompting us to request that strangers maintain a safe distance and refrain from petting him. If he is uncertain about an individual, he may exhibit snippy behavior. Jango is a dog that desires a single companion to share his life with. His background is marked by loneliness & abandonment. His family abandoned him at a shelter, where he was slated for euthanasia before being rescued. He was in a foster home for over a year. Jango was adopted, only to be returned three to four months later. The adoptive family had introduced a puppy to alleviate Jango's loneliness and anxiety, but unfortunately, Jango did not tolerate the puppy well. Consequently, he was returned to CAMO. Jango is located in the Dallas, TX area. Jango's adoption fee is $300.00 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022
