You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Puffin—the bold little leader of the tuxie trio! Puffin and his siblings were born outside to a feral mama and came indoors on 11/7 at about 7–8 weeks old. Since then, Puffin has decided that indoor life is absolutely his kingdom—and he’s happy to lead the way for his shyer siblings. This confident cutie has high energy and a big personality to match. He loves climbing, wrestling, zooming after wand toys, and showing off his athletic moves. Here’s a cute video of Puffin playing . Puffin is also a huge fan of treat tubes and never says no to head or chin scritches. When he isn’t busy being the fearless explorer of the group, he joins the adorable tuxie cuddle pile for a well-earned nap. Puffin has impeccable litter box manners, uses his scratching post like a pro, and is crate trained. While he can give a little warning hiss when nervous (like all his siblings), he’s very gentle and easily handled. He’s fascinated by fish games and nature videos on the tablet and usually “talks” in tiny chirps and trills. Puffin has been around adults, a large kitten-savvy dog, and an adult cat. He isn’t afraid of the dog and should do just fine with canine friends. With other cats, he’s okay—just expect him to be the dominant one. A friendly, socialized kitty companion would be great for helping him continue to learn good manners. Puffin would love a patient adopter who enjoys playful, confident kittens and wants to watch a bold little leader grow into his best self. Puffin is from an owner surrender with 2 siblings. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
