Story
Hi, I’m PoppyI’m a shy girl who likes to take my time getting to know new people and new places. At first, I may hang back and watch from a safe spot while I figure things out, but with patience, kindness, and a calm home, I can start to feel more comfortable. Once I settle in, I have the potential to show my sweet side in my own quiet way. I’m looking for a forever family who will give me the time and understanding I need to blossom.

Story
Hi, I’m Emily, a soft, fluffy 4-year-old lady with a gentle heart and a quiet soul. Life has changed a lot for me recently, and I’m still finding my footing. I came from a home with other cats, but with a new baby in the house, my family made the difficult decision to find me a calmer place where I can feel safe and comfortable again. I can be a bit shy and fearful at first, and you’ll likely find me tucked away in a cozy hiding spot while I take everything in. Loud noises and busy environments aren’t really my thing — I much prefer peace and quiet. Once I start to feel safe though, my sweet and affectionate side begins to shine. I enjoy gentle pets (on my terms, of course!) and will happily come to you when I’m ready for some love. I’m not much of a lap cat, and being picked up isn’t my favourite — I’ll politely wiggle away to let you know. I also prefer to keep my tummy to myself, thank you very much! If I’ve had enough attention, I’ll give a little squeak and make my exit — I like to keep communication clear and respectful. I do have a playful side too! Toss me a soft mouse or a toy I can bat around, and you’ll see a fun, curious side of me come out. I would do best in a calm, quiet home without young children, or with older, respectful ones who understand that I need space and patience. With time, love, and a safe environment, I will blossom into a very affectionate and loyal companion. If you’re looking for a gentle, beautiful soul who just needs a little time to shine, I might be your girl. Come meet me at Pet Valu Westminster starting March 26th!

Story
Hi… I’m Luna. I might not be the first one to run up and greet you—but if you give me a little time, you’ll start to see just how special I am. I’m a shy and independent girl who really values her space, but with the people I trust, I’m gentle, playful, and quietly affectionate. I used to live with two adults, a teen, and my littermate Nova. While we shared some sweet moments—like grooming each other, playing, and curling up nearby—things became a bit too stressful for me over time, and I’ve learned that I’d feel safest and happiest as your one and only feline. I can be a little particular about how I like affection (a girl knows what she likes, after all!). When it comes to affection, I can be a bit particular. I actually prefer when you start petting me along my back first—if you go straight for my head, I might get a little overwhelmed and give a gentle reminder nip. I don’t mean to be rude—I just get overstimulated sometimes, even while I’m purring away! Think of me as a “less is more” kind of cuddler. I’m not much of a lap cat, but I do enjoy being near you in my own way. I can be picked up when I’m in the mood, and even when I’m not, I tend to tolerate it pretty well. Still, I appreciate when people respect my signals—it helps me feel safe and understood. Now, let’s talk about my fun side… I LOVE to play! String toys are my absolute favourite—the kind where you move it around and I get to chase? Yes please! I’ve got lots of energy and a playful spirit just waiting to come out once I’m comfortable. New people—especially young kids—can be a bit scary for me, so I’ll usually find a quiet hiding spot when things get busy. Because of that, I’d do best in a calm home with older or understanding humans who will let me come out of my shell at my own pace. If you’re patient, gentle, and willing to meet me where I am, I promise I’ll show you my sweet, playful heart. I may be a little shy at first… but I’m worth the wait
