Story
Nibbles was found as a stray by a good Samaritan on Tamworth Lane in Pasco. He is neutered and ready to go home today!Nibbles is looking for a loving indoor home where he can enjoy the good life he deserves. He has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), a virus that affects a cat`s immune system. The good news is that many FIV-positive cats live long, happy, and completely normal lives with routine veterinary care, good nutrition, and a low-stress indoor lifestyle.FIV is not contagious to people, dogs, or other animal species. It is primarily spread through deep bite wounds between cats, not through sharing food bowls, litter boxes, grooming, or simply living together. Many FIV-positive cats successfully live alongside other friendly, well-matched cats. Because his immune system may not be as strong as other cats, Nibbles should live indoors only to help protect him from illness and injury.Nibbles is ready to put his stray days behind him and find a family who will love him for exactly who he is. Adult cats make incredible companions, and with a little understanding about his diagnosis, there`s every reason to believe Nibbles has many wonderful years ahead of him.Since Nibbles was found as a stray, his history with other cats or dogs is unknown. Slow and proper introductions are always recommended when bringing a new pet into the home.Nibbles` adoption fee is $50. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Holds, deposits, and pre-adoptions are not allowed. Animals may transfer to other shelters or rescues at any time.If you`ve been looking for a special companion, come meet Nibbles. His FIV doesn`t define him—it simply means he`s looking for someone willing to give him the safe, loving indoor home every cat deserves.
