Even though she was abandoned in a kill shelter, starving, Penny is such a good girl, but a little dominant and may be better as an only dog. She has a dog at the rescue house she likes to play with though, and she's good on a leash beside other dogs. She's very social and friendly with people .She had her shots, is fixed, microchipped, dental cleaning and groomed . She is also got a heartworm/tick fever test ( was negative) & was dewormed. She rides well in the care and is up for hiking and adventures.

Story
Bahama is an 11½-year-old, 15-pound Poodle blend who recently returned to us when her owner could no longer care for her. This sweet senior girl is now searching for a calm, loving forever home to spend her golden years.Bahama absolutely adores her people and forms strong bonds with the humans she loves. She would do best as the only dog in the home since she prefers not to share her favorite people with other canine companions. In return, she’ll make you feel like the most important person in the world with all the love and attention she gives! She enjoys going for walks, is housetrained, and even knows how to use a dog door. Bahama can be timid at first and needs time to warm up, especially with new people and unfamiliar situations. Because she can be skittish and experiences anxiety during thunderstorms and fireworks, she would thrive in a quieter home environment with patient adopters. She’s also used to having someone around much of the day and would love companionship and a steady routine. While she enjoys being close to her people, she’s not necessarily a lap dog — she simply wants to be near you, soaking up your company and love.To get started in the process of meeting Bahama, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Banx is a charming 10-year-old Yorkie/Poodle mix weighing 12 pounds. Don't let his age fool you—this curious little guy wants to be involved in everything that's going on and loves being part of the action.Banx is housetrained, crate trained, and has excellent manners. He knows basic commands like sit and leave it, walks beautifully on a leash, and even knows when it's time for his daily stroll. At night, he enjoys sleeping in his crate, especially when it's in the bedroom near his people. One of Banx's most endearing traits is his talent for begging. When he wants a treat, he'll sit up on his hind legs and show off just how adorable he is—it's hard not to give in to that sweet face! While he may be a little shy when meeting new people, Banx warms up quickly and soon becomes a loyal and affectionate companion. He also gets along well with other dogs.Banx is currently being treated for Valley Fever and is doing well with his care. Our Adoption Counselors will share more with interested adopters, regarding his treatment. He's looking for a loving home where he can continue to thrive. To get started in the process for meeting Banx, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form (this can also be done upon arrival), and then head over to the Adoption Center to meet with an Adoption Counselor. All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs).
