Story
When Geppetto first went home as a fluffy, happy puppy, he was everything you’d expect — cute, joyful, full of life, and full of love. What no one quite planned for was just how much he would grow. And grow. And grow. Sold to an 84-year-old woman who adored him, Geppetto quickly became a very big, very strong, very enthusiastic Standard Poodle. Without the training and socialization a growing boy needs, he simply learned to navigate the world on his own terms. Walks became a tug-of-war, greetings became full-body learning events, and playtime with other dogs looked more like a joyful bulldozer than polite canine conversation. He was never mean. Not even close. Just big. And happy. And unpolished. When his owner, now 88, had to move into a seniors residence and could not bring him along, she asked for help. And so Geppetto joined us. He has now been in foster care for a month, and we’re excited to share what we’ve learned about this huge, fun, snuggly boy.
