***RPSM DOES NOT HAVE THIS DOG, PLEASE CONTACT BARB AT (269)425-9310*** Hi! My name is Scotty and I am a very sweet and handsome boy looking for my forever home.  I am a poodle mix and currently weigh about 50 lbs. The vet says I am between 2-3 years old. I have had a rough time lately; I was found wandering  alone and was quite thin and very matted. A Good Samaritan took me in, gave me a safe place to stay, got me to a groomer to have me trimmed up and got me to a vet for some needed veterinary care.  I tested positive for Lyme disease but luckily it was caught early and my bloodwork shows no damage to my internal organs.  I am currently on meds for that but the vet says my numbers are rebounding nicely so won’t have to stay on those medications long term. I am currently on Apoquel as I appear to have skin allergies, but my skin looks great now; I responded very well to the meds.  I have gained about  20 pounds since I got to my foster home and am now in good weight so the doc says it is safe for me to get neutered and also have my tail docked so I am having that done on Dec. 5.I am not at all food aggressive; if my foster mom takes my bowl away while I am eating, I just step back. I will overeat so my food needs to be measured out. I take food and treats very gently from my foster mom’s hand. I am crate trained and I know a few commands, and I appear to be a smart boy who can learn much more.  I will need a fenced in yard as I do like to explore.I just want a family of my own to love.  If you think I could be your new best friend, please call my foster mom, Barb (269-425-9310), and she can tell you all about what a good boy I am. My adoption fee is $300 ***RPSM DOES NOT HAVE THIS DOG, PLEASE CONTACT BARB AT (269)425-9310*** ##2598821##

Story
Hi my name is Xena! I’m an affectionate 3 year old female labrador schnauzer mix. After being at the Ingham County Shelter I went through my training at the correctional facility and really learned my manners and how to act in a home. I love people and show myaffection for them with snuggling, impressive tail wags, and lots of kisses! After my training I went to a home that I did really well at; I acclimated to the cat that lived there and we ended up getting along great. I went in my crate at bedtime, and during the day,if I needed to be left alone, I could be trusted in the house. But I didn’t like it when the young kids would crowd my personal space and if they left the door open for me I would run into the road and want to adventure, so it was decided it would be safest for me tobe in a home with kids ages 10 and up. I am playful but I know when it’s time to play and when to stop. I love my toys and I’llprobably greet you at the door and then go get one of them to play with you. I have a skin issue that medicated shampoo and a supplement helps but is still being resolved. I do chase squirrels, deer and moles, so having a fenced yard is a must for me! When it comes to other dogs I need slow introductions and exposure over time and then I can ease into being them. I walk really well with my gentle leader halter; it helps me not pull and reminds me to stay right next to my person. I benefit from consistent routine and having boundaries set for me, including clear communication about hierarchy in the home. My trainers at the facility said that I need exercise, obedience, and affection inthat order! I am food motivated and willing to work during training sessions; I truly want to make my human happy and I try hard to please! I have learned a lot over the past 6 months going from shelter to training facility to a home and now another home; I’m trying my hardest and would love to keep learning while also building a lasting relationship with you! Submit your app today! I’m spayed and I’m UTD on all my vaccines, HW, FT, and have a microchip of my own.  RPSM recommends children 10 years and older.  I will require a fenced in yard, either physical or underground. If you are interested in adopting me, please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application. My adoption fee is $300. ##2464119##
