Lambchop, Suffolk, Merino, and Dorset are four beautiful sisters, approximately 3 months old and already around 20+ pounds. These girls came from a farm in Lancaster, where an accidental breeding resulted in puppies being kept in poor conditions. When we learned about their situation, we didn't hesitate to bring them into rescue and give them the fresh start they deserved. Their parents are a Maremma Sheepdog and a Great Pyrenees, two breeds known for producing intelligent, loyal, and devoted companions with a strong sense of purpose. These puppies are expected to grow into large dogs and will thrive with adopters who understand and appreciate livestock guardian breeds. While they're still playful puppies, their heritage shines through. Guardian breeds are known for their independent spirit, strong protective instincts, and deep loyalty to their families. They are incredibly smart dogs who often like to think for themselves, making them wonderful companions for the right homes. They tend to form close bonds with their people while remaining watchful, confident, and naturally protective. Like all puppies, they will need continued socialization, training, patience, and guidance as they grow into well-rounded adults. In return, you'll gain a devoted companion who will stand by your side for years to come. And one final note: please don't judge these girls by their muddy photos! With the recent rain and muddy playyards, keeping four fluffy white puppies clean is nearly impossible. They receive regular baths and grooming to keep them looking their best, but it seems they've decided mud baths are much more fun. We gave up trying to win that battle! They will come spayed, with age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped. Meet Nittany! Nittany found herself in the shelter when both her parents went back to work and she was not getting the exercise and care she needs. She is a 53-lb. Goldendoodle and 8 and 1/2 years young. Nittany is trying to get used to the shelter routine. She walks well on a leash overall; she does have a little pull at first but then settles and enjoys her time with you. She is sweet and has been around kids as young as 5 years old. Nittany hasn't been around big dogs or cats but has been around little dogs and did fine with them. She was trusted to be free roaming in the home while her parents worked and knows sit, stop, stay, heel, and no. Nittany does have a history of urinary tract infections and currently is on crananidin to see if this helps to support her urinary tract health. She has an upcoming surgery that will attempt to reduce the frequency of UTIs. Even after surgery, regular monitoring with your vet as well as regular sanitary grooming  would be necessary to keep her healthy.  We are currently seeking a foster with intent to adopt (adoption could be completed following the surgery).
