Story
Named for the freedom she has finally found, Indy is a young Standard Poodle beginning her journey toward a bright future. She came to us matted and malnourished, weighing only 43 pounds, yet she has met every challenge with a wagging tail and a gentle soul. Indy’s road to recovery will require medical care to treat her URI and a lot of love, and we are looking for supporters to help her cross the finish line. Whether you can donate toward her cause, open your home as an adopter, or help spread her story, every bit of kindness matters. Indy's sweet nature shines through in her interactions with both people and animals. She does well in her crate and is excellent on walks. With this in mind, we have no doubt that she would make a wonderful family dog. As a Standard Poodle, Indy will require regular grooming and brushing sessions to keep her comfortable and looking her very best. Let’s come together to give Indy the best Independence Day gift possible: a loving life where she feels her best and is cherished for all her days. Show this girl the love she deserves. Submit your application today!

This sweet girl is happiest when she’s on the move and part of an active household. She’s looking for a young, busy family who will keep her days full of walks, adventures, and fun ways to burn off that doodle enthusiasm. Bindi already has some basic obedience under her belt and is doing great with her training. She’s crate trained, house broken, and does wonderfully with people. She truly loves her humans and bonds closely — sometimes a little too closely — which means she would do best as the only dog in the home. She prefers not to share her favorite people and thrives when she can have all the attention to herself. This smart girl loves her daily walks and enjoys puzzle toys that keep her busy and thinking. With continued structure, exercise, and consistency, Bindi will absolutely flourish. If you’re ready for a loyal, affectionate, and energetic companion who will keep life active and full of tail wags, Bindi may be your perfect match! Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $350. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® Heartworm Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories. Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232.  Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Additional questions may be directed to sagdinfo@gmail.com. ** This dog is in a foster home in San Antonio, TX.
