Meet Mazey! I’m one of those dogs that presents a full smile when excited. Not to worry I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body. But I am very shy. My staff is helping me gain confidence when in my kennel as well as with people. My new home must be patient with me. When trust is built I warm up but revert to my shy behavior quickly. That is my challenge. If you are willing to help me learn what it means to be loved and cared for, please come in for a meet and greet. I want to conquer this! I weigh 17 pounds.! ***I have been microchipped.

Story
Athena is a beautiful sable merle Sheltie who was saved from puppy mill. She has been in foster care for a year and a half now. She has learned that humans can be trusted, though she is still skittish. She has some basic obedience. She will come up for pets and snacks once she trusts you! Athena is reactive and resource protective, so should be an only dog. She will bond to her human. She should be an only dog. We are looking for someone within a 2 hour radius of the Omaha area to adopt Athena. Please note that a fence is required.
