Story
Sunny’s name fits her perfectly—she’s a little ray of light who brightens every room she enters. She was rescued on October 10, 2025, after being found all alone on a rural road in Ciales, Puerto Rico. Despite her rough start, she’s blossomed into a happy, social, affectionate puppy. Sunny is 4 months old and weighs 14 lbs. This sweet girl is wonderfully friendly—she gets along with dogs, cats, and people with ease. She loves toys, enjoys being cuddled and hugged, and has a naturally loving temperament that makes her instantly endearing. Sunny is ready to bring joy, warmth, and sunshine to a family who will love her forever. Sunny will arrive in Albion, NY on December 14 and we would love to have a family waiting for her! Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. Story
Layla was born around August 1, 2020 and weighs too much at about 45 pounds.  Joyful received a message asking for help in the Rochester area with a home that had 30 dogs.   The humans started taking in dogs that no one wanted, and after a few years, they became overwhelmed and asked for help.  Layla has been with us for over a year and will be an excellent dog for that special person who understands her.  Layla has been living with other dogs and is ok, but she can be very territorial with her food.  Layla would like a home with no children. She adores her human and will be at your side day and night, watching your every move.  She is not the type of dog that will want to go shopping or go to the park. She's a homebody who is content to rule the roost from the couch.  Layla is weary of strangers, so a home with few visitors would be ideal.  We understand the right home for Layla is going to be a tricky thing to find, but we know that home and that special person is out there!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $300.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
The Kramer family has chosen to sponsor the costs of transport and medical care for the 17 Walworth dogs as a Christmas gift in honor of all our fur babies we have lost over the years and all my friends' fur babies that have also crossed the Rainbow Bridge - none will ever be forgotten.  Our Christmas wish is that each of the Walworth-furred ones find loving homes where they are cherished. Merry Christmas sweet Pups!  Love, Cheryl, Dave, Ryan, and Cassie Kramer   Koda was born around August 1, 2020 and weighs about 12 pounds.  Joyful received a message asking for help in the Rochester area with a home that had 30 dogs.   The humans started taking in dogs that no one wanted and after a few years, they became overwhelmed and asked for help.      Koda loves his people and is a very affectionate lap dog!  He's house trained, loves to play with his toys and is good with other dogs but will chase cats.  Koda walks well on leash and is a 'shadow', always with his people.     We recommend a home with no small children as he can get 'snarly” if you try to do something that he doesn’t like - like picking him up when he’s not in the mood to get picked up. (although he has never bitten in foster care) Koda is an absolute sweet, fun “love bug” and a joy to be around!     The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability.
