Story
The Kramer family has chosen to sponsor the costs of transport and medical care for the 17 Walworth dogs as a Christmas gift in honor of all our fur babies we have lost over the years and all my friends' fur babies that have also crossed the Rainbow Bridge - none will ever be forgotten.  Our Christmas wish is that each of the Walworth-furred ones find loving homes where they are cherished. Merry Christmas sweet Pups!  Love, Cheryl, Dave, Ryan, and Cassie Kramer   Scout was born around December 9, 2019, and weighs about 15 pounds.  Joyful received a message asking for help in the Rochester area with a home that had 30 dogs.   The humans started taking in dogs that no one wanted and after a few years, they became overwhelmed and asked for help.  Scout has things to do in life and would benefit from another active dog to run and chase in the yard and would be an excellent agility dog. Scout rides well in the car and walks fine on a leash.  You will have some work to do on house training but Scout is very smart and learning quickly. Scout is somewhat shy at first but warms up quickly.   We are going to say no small kids but older children should be fine.  This is all we know so far and we will be learning as we go and so will you!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gypsy is available for adoption!  Gypsy is a 6 year old Sheltie that was recently released from a breeder where she was living in a barn, having litter after litter of puppies.  She is ready to be a pet and feel the love she has always deserved! Introducing Gypsy, a delightful and friendly girl with an insatiable curiosity for her new life. She has quickly adapted to her new environment and cherishes the time she spends with her foster family. Gypsy is a social butterfly and gets along splendidly with other dogs and cats in her foster home. She is always ready to engage in playtime with her furry friends and her favorite toys. An active girl at heart, Gypsy also loves to cuddle up and snuggle with her humans in bed after a day of exploring and playing. Although she is still learning how to walk on a leash, Gypsy is making excellent progress. She is a quick learner and is eager to please her foster family - especially when there are treats involved! While she is not yet housetrained, Gypsy is a smart girl, and with some love and patience, we are confident she will soon master this skill. In the meantime, she enjoys having the freedom to roam around her fully fenced yard in her foster home. Overall, Gypsy is a joy to be around and would make an excellent addition to any loving family who can provide her with the attention and care she deserves. Gypsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $450  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 20, 2024, 9:20 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Look at how handsome our little boy Blue is! Blue is a 7 year old Shetland sheepdog, aka Sheltie. Blue is approximately 20 pounds and initially came to us as a breeder release in the WNY area. Sadly, Blue spent most of his life in a crate up until now. We know the rest of his life will be better now. No more life in a crate for you Blue!   Blue is the sweetest little guy.  We believe with time and patience, he will continue to blossom in his forever home. He is still learning to be a real dog and is nervous in new situations. Blue will need a quieter home, with another dog to show him the ropes,  and a fully fenced-in yard (no invisible or electric fences, please). Since being in rescue, Blue has learned some new things about the human world. He has learned that he can go outside to potty. Blue enjoys exploring the outside world. He is doing amazingly well on his house training, but we always say to expect accidents initially when transitioning into a new home. Once he learns your routine, Blue will follow the lead of your dog when it comes to outside time.    Everything is new to Blue, and should be treated like an adult puppy, even a leash, or maneuvering stairs is a new concept to Blue. Blue has found his voice too. He gets excited when the microwave goes off. That little box tends to bring out warm food. Human treats are delicious! Blue is not a pup that will seek out affection. Those delicious treats will help win him over. When his foster pup plays with toys, Blue wants to see what the commotion is all about. Blue isn’t quite ready to play, but it looks like it may be fun at some point. Blue finds comfort in his crate; it’s his safe spot. Blue is willing to sleep in it in at night or during the day while you are at work.    If you think you have the time to continue to work with Blue, make sure you apply today.  Blue is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $450  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 20, 2024, 9:20 am
