Story
Meet Walter! Walter is about 3 years old, and we’re guessing he’s some sort of mini doodle or poodle mix. He currently weighs about 25 pounds and won’t get much bigger. Whatever he is, he’s a pretty handsome little guy, even if he’s currently sporting a very short haircut. Walter came to us in pretty rough shape. Someone had tied rubber bands around his wrists, and they had become embedded in his skin, leaving deep wounds. On top of that, his coat was in such bad condition that we had to completely shave him down. Thankfully, Walter doesn’t seem too concerned about his unfortunate hairstyle or what he’s been through. He’s a happy, energetic, playful little guy who loves attention and is ready to find a family of his own. Walter does well with other dogs and doesn’t seem too interested in cats. He likes kids, too, although smaller children might not appreciate his enthusiasm since he does have a habit of jumping. We’re working on reminding him that all four feet can, in fact, remain on the floor at the same time. His hair will grow back, his wounds will heal, and we’re hoping the next chapter of his life is a whole lot better than the last. Walter is looking for a family who understands that doodles need grooming, exercise, attention, and some manners. Being cute is not a substitute for training, although Walter would probably disagree. Walter is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly preventatives. We require a complete and approved adoption application before scheduling an in-home meet and greet.
