Story
Thor is a sweet, smart, and slightly shy boy who’s ready to find the stability and love he deserves! After arriving at the shelter as a stray, we were able to trace several previous owners but unfortunately never located his most recent one. It seems Thor has spent a lot of time bouncing from place to place, and now he’s hoping his next stop will finally be his forever home. While he may take a moment to warm up, Thor is incredibly quick to trust when given gentle reassurance and a proper introduction. Once you’re in his circle, you’re there for life — he’s the kind of loyal companion who loves to stay close to his people and quietly soak up your company. Thor is a very smart boy who is always paying attention and ready for his next cue. He already knows sit, shake, lay down, touch, wait, and drop it — truly a 10/10 super good boy! He walks beautifully on leash, appears potty trained (though like any dog, he’ll need time to adjust to a new routine), and has done well with handling, including baths! He’s an active, playful dog who would thrive with positive outlets for his energy. Thor enjoys leisurely walks, tennis balls, and spending quality time with his people. He also absolutely lights up around other dogs and may really enjoy having a canine companion in his new home — he especially seems to think fellow shelter dog Butter Cup is pretty cute! We’re always happy to arrange a dog meet-and-greet if needed. Because Thor still needs continued socialization and confidence building, we feel he would do best in a home without small children for now, as fast movements and unfamiliar little humans can feel intimidating to him. With patience, consistency, and positive experiences, we think Thor has so much potential to continue blossoming. Thor is truly an awesome pup with so much love to give. More than anything, we want to see him land in a home where he can finally exhale, feel secure, and know he’s there to stay.
