Story
Meet Kojack! Kojack is a 2 year old German Shepherd/English Mastiff mix, searching for his forever home.Kojack is an exuberant, intelligent young dog who is always ready to play! At first, he was a pretty nervous boy and wasn't sure what to make of all the new faces here at the shelter. As soon as he realized he's in a safe space, he opened up to show off his spirited nature! Since then, he's been all about cuddles, kisses, and playing with his toys.Given Kojack's breeds, he will need a very experienced and strong owner, with a solid understanding of dog training. He is a mixture of high intelligence, stubbornness, and strength. Shepherds need high mental and physical stimulation, and thrive with consistent and structured training. Mastiffs are fiercely loyal dogs, and need adequate socialization in order to have healthy relationships with people and dogs.Kojack has not had much training or socialization so far in his life, so he is still learning how to greet new friends without jumping and getting too excited. He is pretty weary of men, and needs time, patience, and gentleness when bring introduce to new male friends. Kojack's perfect home would be with a strong, experienced guardian who is home most of the time. He would thrive in a life where he gets a lot of physical activity, a consistent routine, and lots and lots of praise and affection. Story
Meet Glenda! She is a 7 year old German Shepherd, searching for her forever home.*Glenda is currently available for Foster to Adopt, as she is awaiting a re-check for her eyes*Glenda has spent her life being dearly loved in one home, so shelter life has been pretty hard for her and she is very eager to get into her new forever home. Nothing soothes this old gal better than a cuddle and a good brushing! Glenda is a German Shepherd, so she's clever and has the capacity for lots of mental stimulation. She has had a few too many treats, so she's on a weight loss journey for the next few months. GSD's need plenty of exercise, even as they get older, and given her weight, this is even more important for Glenda. She will need moderate daily exercise to reach a healthy weight, and to maintain overall well-being. She also has an eye condition called Pannus that will need to be managed with eye drops for the duration of her life. Glenda's ideal home would be with an established, patient, and comforting family. She's heading into her golden years, so what she wants most is stability, comfort, and a safe place to call home. If you think Glenda could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/*TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.
