Story
Athena is looking for someone who understands strong, driven dogs and is willing to give her the leadership, structure, and consistency she needs to thrive.
This girl is incredibly smart, highly trainable, and has a lot of drive and energy but she also knows how to settle and be calm when asked. She's learning that she doesn't always have to act on every impulse, and we're seeing her impulse control improve every single day.
Her biggest area of focus right now is her prey drive.
Small animals and sudden movement can trigger that chase instinct, so she would do best in a home without other animals, especially smaller animals.
With the right experienced owner, she may be able to live with other dogs, but this is something that would need to be approached thoughtfully. She needs someone who understands how to manage multiple dogs and is comfortable handling strong breeds and their dynamics.
Once Athena bonds with her person, she listens incredibly well. She wants to work with you, she wants to learn, and she has so much potential in the right hands.
And underneath all that drive?
She is an absolute sweetheart.
Athena loves people and has a very affectionate side.
After a walk or training session, she is more than happy to settle in beside her people for a good snuggle.
Athena needs someone who can give her direction, channel her drive, continue building her impulse control, and appreciate the incredible dog underneath it all.
If you think you could be the right foster or forever home for Athena, please reach out.
