Story
Whiskey is a stunning Panda Shepherd, just shy of two years old, who embodies the best traits of his breed. True to his heritage, he is a dedicated guardian with a natural instinct to protect his favorite people. While his protective nature led to his surrender at the shelter, it is simply a reflection of his loyalty, he takes his job seriously and needs a leader who understands the shepherd mindset.Whiskey is looking for a shepherd-savvy home that can provide the structure and continued training he thrives on. He is a `working` soul who is eager to please and has plenty of athletic energy to burn. Because he takes a little time to vet new people (he definitely has a case of `stranger danger`), he requires slow, patient introductions. However, once you win him over with a tennis ball or a bit of chicken jerky, you have a friend for life.Personality & Habits• Social Life: Whiskey is very curious about other dogs and would likely love a canine sibling! A meet-and-greet is required to ensure a good match. His reaction to cats is currently unknown.• Skills: He already knows his basic commands and is highly motivated to learn more.• House Manners: He is exceptionally clean in his kennel, suggesting he has great house-training potential.• Hobbies: Chasing tennis balls and snacking on jerky.Whiskey is a `hunk` with a heart of gold who just needs a family that respects his protective instincts while helping him navigate the world with confidence. If you`re ready for a devoted companion who will always have your back, come meet Whiskey today!

Story
Meet Molly: A Big Heart in a Big Package!Molly is a stunning 5-year-old German Shepherd/Newfoundland mix. Though she’s an extra-large lady with a deep bark, she is a total sweetheart once she feels safe. Originally adopted from us as a puppy, Molly recently returned because her size became more than her owner could handle. While she was nervous at first, her goofy, playful personality is now shining through!Personality & Social Needs• Active Explorer: She loves stretching her long legs in the yard and making her `rounds` at the shelter to check on humans and cats alike.• Other Pets: She hasn`t lived with other animals yet, but she shows a very friendly curiosity toward both dogs and cats.Health RequirementsMolly has previously had bladder stones removed and requires a lifelong prescription diet (specifically Urinary SO or c/d). Note - This must be a veterinary-grade prescription food, not standard grocery store brand. (Huge shoutout and thanks to Town & Country Veterinary Clinic! Molly is finally back to her happy, spry self after having those painful bladder stones removed. This big girl has such a special place in so many hearts, and we are beyond relieved to see her feeling like herself again. Thank you for taking such great care of our girl!)

Story
How can you look into those beautiful eyes and NOT fall in love?!Gibbs was brought to us as a stray, so his history is completely unknown to us. We`ve estimated him to be about a year old, although his attitude is still in puppy mode! Gibbs LOVES his people... he loves to walk with his people, and play with his people, and climb-all-over-smothering-with-kisses his people. He HATES when his people leave. He has been well behaved when walking on a leash, works really hard to keep his kennel clean, and nose boops his pup neighbors when passing by. He would probably love a canine sibling to run, play, and keep him company when alone. He loves a good chew... so a Kong or similarly tough toy would be recommended (unless you like spending money on toys. lol)He can be very *active* when playing, so he might accidentally jump on, or knock down, a small child in his excitement, but he would love the spilled snacks and snuggles that often come with a home with children. Stop in during our business hours to meet Gibbs! His enthusiasm is contagious, and there`s nothing he loves more than meeting new people! Or email us at animals@mashelter.org for a dog adoption application!
