Story
Kona is a 7 year old, 70 lb Shepherd mix and a shelter employee and volunteer favorite! This big girl has got personality! A lover of long walks, hikes, and treatos! She`ll give a paw or two for cookies. She loves everyone she meets and shes easy on the eyes.So what`s the catch? Why do dogs like Kona get overlooked? With great personality comes quirks sometimes. For Kona, it`s resource guarding. Simply put, in the past when she has decided something is hers... she has defended her ownership of it fiercely. Whether it be high value objects or food items.https://www.cognitoforms.com/griffinpondanimalshelter1/griffinpondanimalshelteradoptionapplicationfordogsGriffin Pond Animal Shelter 967 Griffin Pond RdSouth Abington Twp Pa 18411 Kennel License #2236That said, she has received some training to work with her resource guarding but would need to be continued in a new home. Her daily dog walkers speak volumes of her as being the easiest dog to walk in the entire kennel. As well as most affectionate! But remember , this is a controlled environment . She needs the same structure and routine in a home.Because of her past resource guarding, she would do best in a low traffic home without young children or other pets. Someone who has experience with canine resource guarding or can provide training for her would be of most benefit to her in a new home. Please give Kona the chance she deserves.

Story
Meet Jay Jay- aka Rocco! Jay Jay is a loyal boy and he devotes himself to you; he does so with all his heart. He is quite the handsome boy but he is unsure of new people. He would need a patient adopter who wouldn`t mind spending some time to get to know him. Once he trusts you, he is a real cuddle bug who loves to be pet and give kisses. Jay Jay loves to play with his toys (especially tennis balls) and usually has a hilarious goofy look on his face. Jay Jay loves his family but would do best in an adult only household with few visitors. Jay Jay is more than enough love for one family so he prefers not to share your attention with other canines or cats. Jay Jay also loves going for runs and playing in the water. He is very smart and loves to eat from puzzle toys. Come meet this handsome doggie today!

Story
Chooch Has Done His Time. Now He Needs a Couch.Eight years old. Graying muzzle. A little stiff in the mornings. And still absolutely certain that you’re the human he’s been waiting for.Chooch is a pit bull who’s spent too many nights on a hard shelter floor. He’s not asking for a miracle. He’s asking for a soft bed, a slow walk now and then, and a lap to lean his big blocky head on. Because this old boy still has pep in his step. He still does the wiggle-butt when he sees someone he loves. He still lights up at the word “treat.”The catch? Chooch wants you all to himself. No other pets. Just you, him, and whatever’s on TV. He’s earned the right to be a little selfish in his golden years. He shouldn’t be sleeping in a kennel tonight. He should be snoring on your rug, dreaming about tomorrow’s belly rubs.If you’ve got a quiet home and a little room in your heart for a senior gentleman who just wants to love a human, Chooch is your guy, all 70 pounds of him !Share this post. Let’s give Chooch the retirement he deserves.Apply today : https://www.cognitoforms.com/griffinpondanimalshelter1/griffinpondanimalshelteradoptionapplicationfordogsGriffin Pond Animal Shelter Kennel License #2236967 Griffin Pond RdSouth Abington Twp Pa 18411
