Story
Meet Dixie! Age: 2 years Gender: Female Spayed: Yes! Status: Owner surrender Dixie is a smart, affectionate girl who’s looking for a fresh start and a forever home to call her own. She came to us as an owner surrender following an altercation with a smaller dog. Because of this, Dixie appears to be dog-selective, so we require a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs to ensure a good match. Dixie may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she becomes an absolute sweetheart — full of snuggles, tail wags, and kisses. Treats are definitely the way to her heart, and her eagerness to please makes her a quick learner. She loves her daily walks, enjoys exploring the world with her nose, and is always up for some cuddle time with her favorite humans. With a patient, loving home and proper introductions, Dixie has all the potential to be an amazing lifelong companion. Are you ready to give Dixie the second chance she deserves?

Story
Rowdy is a 2-year-old Pit Bull/Shepherd mix with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and enough love to last a lifetime. He came to us alongside his best friend, Sassy, and the puppies they had together after their owner sadly passed away. Losing his person was incredibly difficult for Rowdy, and he struggled when he first arrived at the shelter while grieving that loss. Since then, Rowdy has blossomed into one of our staff favorites. Once he trusts you, you'll discover an affectionate, loyal, and incredibly intelligent companion. This handsome boy already knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, stay, lay down, shake, and more. He loves learning and thrives on spending time with people. If there's one thing you should know about Rowdy, it's that he is absolutely obsessed with sticks. When he spots one, his excitement is impossible to miss—he doesn't bark, and he doesn't whine. He screams with pure joy! His hilarious reactions and goofy personality keep everyone around him laughing. Rowdy also loves water and enjoys long walks with his favorite people. During walks, he'll often stop just to lean in and give you a hug. He loves being close to his humans and forms strong bonds with the people he trusts. Because Rowdy is an active, energetic dog, he is looking for a home that can provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and attention. He would do best with an active family that can keep both his body and mind engaged. Rowdy can be possessive of toys, so we believe he would thrive as the only pet in the home. We also recommend a home with children ages 16 and older. Due to his size, strength, and energy level, Rowdy would do best with an adopter who has previous experience owning powerful breeds and understands the commitment that comes with them. Rowdy has already overcome so much loss in his young life. Now, he's ready to find a family who will give him the stability, love, and adventure he's been waiting for. If you're looking for a smart, loyal best friend who will keep you laughing every day, Rowdy might just be your perfect match.
