☀️🐾 Meet Sunshine! 🐾☀️
Sunshine is a sweet 1-year-old Pit Bull mix with so much love to give. She can be timid when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar things, but once she realizes she’s safe, she warms up and becomes completely devoted to her person. Cuddling is her absolute favorite, and she’s happiest following her people around and being part of whatever they’re doing. ❤️
Her foster describes Sunshine as an incredibly smart girl who learns quickly. She is fully potty trained and crate trained, walks beautifully on leash with minimal pulling, and knows sit, paw/shake, high five, kennel, and leave it.
Sunshine loves toys and fetch and has a playful side without needing to be entertained constantly. She enjoys other dogs and has done well living with both dogs and cats in her foster home. She’s currently getting along great with her foster’s smaller, older dog, and the two are now able to spend their time together without needing to be separated. 🐶💕
Sunshine’s biggest challenge is simply confidence. She’s a sensitive girl who can become overwhelmed by unfamiliar people, noises, or busy environments, so she needs someone who will give her time to adjust instead of expecting her to be brave right away.
And she’s making some BIG progress! 🥹
At her most recent adoption event, Sunshine allowed two different strangers to walk her as long as her foster came along too. She’s becoming more accepting of affection from new people and has even started walking up to certain people on her own as they pass by. Every week, she seems to get a little braver.
Sunshine may never be the dog who immediately runs up to every stranger—and she doesn’t need to be. She just needs someone willing to let her decide when she feels safe. Once you’re one of her people, you get the affectionate, playful, loyal girl who wants nothing more than to be your little shadow.
