Meet our sweet girl Sheila! You've never met a dog who just wants to be loved more than Sheila. She has mastered the sad puppy dog eyes, and is great at convincing you to give her some belly rubs.If you've been following our page for a few years, you may recognize this gorgeous girl. Sweet Sheila has been through a lot in her short life already. She originally came to us after being neglected and living outside, being picked on by other dogs just for trying to eat her food. After being in the shelter for a long while, she was finally adopted out. She lived with what we all thought was her forever family for 3 years, when they suddenly showed up a couple weeks ago and dumped her at our gate. Heartbroken and confused as to why she's back, Sheila wants nothing more than to find her TRUE forever home. With a sensitive nature, Sheila will thrive with someone who is patient and will give her plenty of time to adjust and open up. She is picky about the dogs she likes, and will need to do a meet and greet if you have other dogs in the home. Even after everything she's been through, she is still one of the most loving dogs you will meet. Please share her post and spread the word about Sheila ?? Sheila is a German Shepherd, weighs 73 pounds, and was born on 5/26/2019. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Sheila must be an indoor dog, meaning she sleeps in the home setting and does not live outside. If you are interested in adopting Sheila, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com. Story
Clark walked up to my sister's door when she lived in Lubbock, Texas in 2019. He is about 5 years old. He is very sweet with people and other dogs, and I have never had to worry about him. Unfortunately, Clark has an instinct to go after cats and chickens. Since I have lots of cats and a few chickens, he is not able to live with me anymore. He always views chickens as prey, but he actually has a favorite cat that he is still a "Nanny" to. A cat fight is high pitched and triggers his instinct reaction to go after the sound. This is why I would not be comfortable placing him with young children. Middle school age and older I would trust. He loves being dressed up and is very submissive to other dogs and people. He has had training, and loves wrestling, and playing chase with me, and a walk tires him out. He has never harmed a person and tries to be friends with everybody. He is on Apoquel for itchy skin.
