Story
This cream-colored boy is as handsome as they come, and he knows it! Arthur is the definition of a lovable, clingy, oversized marshmallow. If he could melt into your lap, he absolutely would… despite being roughly the size of a small horse. He just wants to be one with his person—is that really too much to ask? Arthur is mellow, sweet, and wonderfully clumsy, trotting around like a baby giraffe who hasn’t quite figured out where his legs end. He longs to please his people, be adored, and get all the belly rubs his big body can possibly soak in. And water? Oh, this boy LOVES water. He doesn’t just splash—he submerges his entire self like he’s auditioning to be a sea creature. A water-loving family would be his absolute paradise. HISTORY Arthur was found as a stray puppy with 2 littermates in Richland, WA. At the time that they were found, they were estimated to be roughly 4 months old. Since we don't know their true DOB, we have designated 3/27/25 as their DOB. Arthur is located in Kennewick, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. He is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before you decide he should join your family! SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING Arthur is thriving in his foster home and is doing wonderful with the resident dogs (100lb Akita, and 20 lbs mixed breed). He enjoys playful canine friends and is growing more confident every day. He is also fostered with a toddler and has been pretty gentle with her—no jumping, no knocking over, just requests and appreciation for tiny human affection. Arthur is also fostered with a cat, but we do not believe him to be a candidate for a cat home at this time. While he does not mind the cat being in high spaces, he chases them as soon as they hop down to his level. Though his chase can be called off, we don't believe this to be his ideal environment. Arthur LOVES meeting new people and will gladly lean his entire body weight into anyone willing to pet him. He’s a velcro dog through and through. He would thrive in a home where someone works from home or is around often. Being close to his human is his love language. Arthur is around 8 months old, which means he is officially entering the doggy teenage stage—also known as the “I forgot everything I’ve ever learned but I’m still very cute” phase. Think of it as his goofy middle school era. He may test boundaries, get distracted by a leaf blowing across the yard, and have opinions about things he didn’t notice before. It’s all normal, temporary, and honestly pretty hilarious. With consistency, patience, and fun training sessions, he’ll grow right through it and come out the other side an amazing adult dog. HEALTH STATUS General info Arthur is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, sterilized, and dewormed. He appears to be in good health. Once full grown, he will likely be somewhere in the 50-70 lbs. range. ADOPTION The adoption fee for Arthur is $425. Story
Born July 6, 2019 Vela is a gorgeous female German Shepherd mix who is ready for that person or family to call her own! Here is a little bit about her: for the last 6 months Vela has been in training to be the best dog she can be. She’s very high energy and would love nothing more than a playmate of similar size in her forever home – preferably male and one that would let her “lead” her way. Vela could also be happy as an only dog as long as it was an active home where she was part of the family. Vela has that typical shepherd aloofness when meeting someone new and tends to warm up quicker to women. Once Vela know you’re one of the good guys she bonds deeply to her person and listens well to commands. Vela is not a fan of small children and due to her high prey drive cannot be in a home with cats or small animals. Vela would be a wonderful running, hiking or outdoor buddy. She also is completely content chilling with her people on the sofa! Vela needs lots of physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep her centered and happy. She is protective of her yard and home and will alert strangers with a large warning bark but is otherwise fairly quiet at home. Vela has great leash manners and enjoys car rides because that means a new adventure 😊 Her forever home will require a secure 6 foot fence with adults and without cats or other small animals. We are confident Vela’s best fit home is out there! Could it be yours? Applications can be accessed at www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Born 7/13/21 Pepper is a female German Shepherd mix seeking a forever home. Here is a little bit about her: She’s very playful and affectionate. Pepper does great with other dogs and people. Cats are fun for a game of chase so would we recommend a cat free home. Pepper loves car rides, going to coffee shops with her foster parents, and taking walks. Pepper’s best fit home would be an active one with a securely fenced yard, and if there are kids in the home, over the age of 5. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com
