Looking to rehome our almost 8 year old German shepherd. She is good with our kids and is our only pet. Gets along with other dogs and goes on play dates with friends with dogs. Not a big fan of cats. Loves to play fetch. We are busy with life and two young kids, we love our dog very much but haven’t been able to be home as much. As our dog is getting older she needs to be home with someone more and we want her to have good care. She had both ccl surgeries on her back legs when she was four due to slipping on our deck when it was rainy. she does great and has no issues with her hips or knees, the doctor did a great job with her ccl surgeries. If she is extremely active sometimes she likes to lay down more as she has gotten older. Iris loves dog treats and knows commands of sit and lay down. She has always been in a fenced in yard. We want her to go to a loving home.

I'm Nami! I am a balanced energy girl who loves to learn new things and play with my dog friends! I am OK with Cats. Best with older children... I have a calm, cool demeanor and a LOT of resilience! I am a mixed breed, but my personality is definitely that of a German shepherd and huskey! I am currently being boarded with a trainer to work on some resource guarding issues. I would do well with experienced handlers, especially those with training experience. Let's be best friends!!

Brutus is a 5 year 7 month old Pomeranian/Siberian Husky weighing 30 pounds. He came to us as an owner surrender at no fault of his own. Brutus is a loveable guy who wants to be wherever his person is, he's basically superglue with four legs! Separation anxiety noted by owner and shelter staff-treated with Trazadone as needed. He struggles with being alone and that Husky voice rings out bright & loud, he won't do well in an apartment setting. When his person is near, he settles into a calm & happy boy. Knows commands sit, shake and laydown. Loves car rides. Loves walks and exploring. Treat motivated. Does well with baths and with groomer. His favorite activities include laying next to his person, standing on his person and making sure his person knows they're never alone. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00 (includes $1.00 service charge).Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!
