Kona is a 7 year old, 70 lb Shepherd mix and a shelter employee and volunteer favorite! This big girl has got personality! A lover of long walks, hikes, and treatos! She`ll give a paw or two for cookies. She loves everyone she meets and shes easy on the eyes.So what`s the catch? Why do dogs like Kona get overlooked?With great personality comes quirks sometimes. For Kona, it`s resource guarding. Simply put, in the past when she has decided something is hers... she has defended her ownership of it fiercely. She needs the same structure and routine in a home.Because of her past resource guarding, she would do best in a low traffic home without young children or other pets. Someone who has experience with canine resource guarding or can provide training for her would be of most benefit to her in a new home.Please give Kona the chance she deserves.

Rain is a stunning 5 year old girl. She is a staff favorite and loves her belly rubs. She thinks she’s a lap dog, loves cozying up next to her people and has done well with other dogs at the shelter, She cannot, at any time , be around small animals, including farm animals , indoor small animals or cats.
