Story
Hi… my name is Maesil 🍃 I’m a 1-year-old Shiba × Jindo mix girl, about 10kg — small, bright, and just beginning my real life. I was rescued from a dog meat farm. Since the day I was born, I knew metal bars and loud, unfamiliar noises before I ever knew gentle hands. I spent more time enduring than learning, more time surviving than living. So when we first meet, I might be just a little cautious. But it’s not fear that fills my heart. It’s more like I’m softly asking, “Is this okay? Are you safe?” With one treat and one kind voice, my question melts away. I’ll carefully step closer… and before you know it, my tail will be wagging just for you. --- Once I open up, I’m actually very affectionate. I love sitting close beside my person, looking into your eyes, and asking for attention in the sweetest ways. It almost feels like I instinctively know how to love — I just needed the chance to show it. I get along very well with other dogs my age. I enjoy playing and being part of a group. My energy is bright and healthy, and I carry a natural cheerfulness inside me. And walks? I absolutely love them. When I step outside, the whole world feels magical. Every sound, every breeze, every scent on the ground — it’s all new and fascinating. I haven’t been out in the world for very long, so everything is a discovery. The street noises, passing people, the wind brushing my fur… it’s my first time experiencing it all. --- That also means home life is new to me — living inside a house, learning potty routines, understanding daily rhythms, spending time alone calmly, and learning the rules of living with people. No one has had the chance to teach me these things yet. So I will need patience. I will need guidance. I will need someone who teaches me slowly from the very beginning. But please don’t worry — I truly want to learn. I listen. I pay attention. I try. If you guide me with love instead of scolding, with patience instead of rushing, I promise I will grow into a stable and trustworthy companion. --- I’m still young, and I’ve only just begun my “ordinary” life. I’m waiting to become someone’s joy — someone’s walking partner, someone who shares the start and end of each day. Will you be the family who teaches me all my firsts? Will you fill my world with love instead of fear? If you walk beside me from the beginning, I will stay beside you for the rest of my life. 🐾🤍

Story
🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster home Hi… my name is Holly. Before I even had the chance to understand what the world was, I was standing at the edge of losing it. I was on a euthanasia list. I didn’t know what that meant — only that everything felt uncertain and scary. But someone gave me another chance. Now I’m here, waiting for you. I’m a little shy at first. When I meet new people or step into new places, I like to pause and watch from a small distance. I just need a moment to understand that I’m safe. If you give me that time, I promise you’ll see something special — I’ll slowly walk closer, maybe sit near you, maybe rest quietly by your side. I’m not the kind of girl who rushes in with big, dramatic affection. I’m the kind who loves deeply once I trust you. Because I’m a Shiba mix, I’m observant and thoughtful. I notice your tone, your mood, the way you move. The less you rush me, the faster I open my heart. I get along well with other dogs too. I don’t push to be the center of attention — I prefer to read the room and join gently. I’m only 10 months old. I’m still learning what it means to live in a home. House rules, walks, playtime, rest — these are all things I’m ready to learn with you. What I need most isn’t pressure to be perfect. I need patience. Consistency. A calm voice that says, “It’s okay, Holly. Take your time.” If I can grow up in a stable home… If someone calls my name softly each day… If I can build trust little by little… I will become a steady, loyal, deeply devoted companion. I’m looking for a family who appreciates quiet connection. A family who understands that love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. A family who will cherish the moment when a shy dog finally chooses to lean into them. I was once almost out of time. Now I’m waiting for my forever. Will you hold my paw and show me that my world can be filled with safety instead of fear — with love instead of uncertainty? I’ll be waiting for you. 🐾

Story
Hi, my name is Haerang 🐾 I’m a 3-year-old male Shiba–Welsh mix, weighing about 7kg. I have a slim body, short little legs, and bright, sparkling eyes that people often fall in love with right away. I was rescued from a shelter where euthanasia was taking place. Before that, I spent a long time in a shelter environment where I didn’t get many chances to experience the world. I was very shy and fearful back then, often hiding quietly on my own. But I’ve changed a lot since then. As I learned what human warmth feels like, I slowly opened my heart. Now, I truly love people. When you call my name, I’ll happily roll over and show you my belly, wiggling my way toward you for affection. I have a very gentle, calm, and stable personality, and being with me tends to make people feel relaxed and at ease without even realizing it. My favorite thing in the world is my person. I can coexist peacefully with other dogs and even cats, but I’m more of a “one-on-one” kind of guy. I’m happiest in a quiet, calm home where I can enjoy peaceful time with my family rather than a busy, crowded environment. I already know the command “house,” I walk nicely on leash, and I do well riding in the car too. With potty training, I might have a few small accidents in a brand-new environment, but I’m very steady and gentle by nature—if you guide me patiently and kindly, I’ll learn just fine. In unfamiliar places, I may seem a little timid at first. But give me some time, and I’ll be the one coming to you, asking for love. Before you know it, I’ll be following you everywhere like your little shadow—your loyal, affectionate “velcro dog.” I’m not a dog who adjusts instantly. I’m a dog who blossoms when someone waits for me and believes in me. I’ve been learning to trust human arms again, and now I’m ready to give my whole heart to one forever family. If you’re looking for a quiet, gentle companion who will stay close by your side for life, I’m right here—waiting just for you. 💛

Story
Hi… my name is Gaon 🐕 I’m a 4-year-old male Shiba × Jindo mix, and I weigh about 18kg. I was once placed on a shelter’s euthanasia list. Even after I was rescued, no one came for me for a very long time. The shelter became the only home I knew—far longer than any dog should have to endure. When people approach me, I don’t rush forward with excitement. Instead, I watch carefully. I’m afraid you might leave. Afraid I might be alone again. So I open my heart slowly, cautiously. But behind that hesitation is a heart that longs deeply to love a person. I simply never learned how to show it. I went so long without being chosen, without being loved, that I don’t always know how to ask for affection. That’s why I struggle when attention is shared with other dogs. It’s not jealousy—it’s more like a quiet plea: “Please don’t leave me this time.” That’s why I’m hoping for an only-dog home, where I can finally feel secure. When it’s just you and me, I’m a completely different dog. I’ll meet your eyes, lean gently against you, and offer shy little gestures of affection. Once I give my heart, I give it fully— with the deep, unwavering loyalty that Jindo dogs are known for. Home life may feel unfamiliar to me at first. I’ll need time, patience, and understanding. But if you’re willing to walk that slow beginning with me, I promise you this: I will become a dog who makes one person my whole world. A once-in-a-lifetime companion who loves quietly, deeply, and forever. Somewhere in a shelter, I’m still waiting— waiting for the one person who will call my name and mean it for life.
