Story
Sweet, energetic girl in need of a good home ASAP! Mikkie is a little over a year old and is just a spunky fur missal! She loves to run and play, investigate all the things, learn new things and get into your business. She wants to be your best friend, take over your side of the couch and let you give her all the attention and rubs you can give. Due to recently and permanent mobility issues I am unable to care for her the way she should be cared for. She would prefer a home with no cats or small animals and a big yard to burry her chews in. She has had all her shots, is spayed and chipped. Toys, collar, leash and cage will be included. Please come get your best friend cause she needs to go home! :)

Story
Bear is a small energetic pup. He wouldn't hurt a fly but he will smother you in kisses! Bear is wonderful with children and other dogs! His birthday is June 16th, 2019. He needs a lot of attention and a large fenced in yard to run out all that energy. He was adopted in Okinawa, japan from a shelter when he was just a few months old. They did not treat them well there but he has had a love-filled life since. Our schedules put a strain on the attention we can give him. He MUST go to a good home that will give him lots of attention! He is wonderful with other dogs, he has a "brother" he grew up with and has never had a problem with other dogs or children. He may be 5 years old but you'd think he's 6 months old with his small stature and unlimited energy. He is a huge cuddle bug and will make sure you stay warm!

Story
Sarabi is around 3 yrs old and has had 3 litters. She and her pups were abandoned when her former owners were evicted. She has since been spayed, is up to date on all vaccines and currently weighs 58.6 lbs. No more babies for this gorgeous girl, even if she IS a wonderful mom. Sarabi (aka "Beebee") walks perfectly on her harness and leash. She enjoys a casual walk to take in all the sights and smells and is equally happy on a jog or hike. She loves head scratches, butt scratches and ear rubs. She's pretty chill overall, but also has her playful moments. Full disclosure: Sarabi has displayed a strong visual fixation on the antics of ground hogs and rabbits. Erring on the side of caution, I would not recommend a home with cats, small dogs or other small animals, but I don't know 100% that she would bother them. We walked past a ground hog playing/running around and "meerkat-ing" about 20 ft from the driveway. She stopped and was fully invested in watching it , but she didn't pull toward it at all while harnessed and leashed. Because of this and being allowed to free roam at her former home, I also recommend a fenced yard for this beauty so she doesn't chase after something and get lost... or worse. I am 100% sure in the right home with the right family, she will be the best, most FABULOUS companion! We *think* she is mostly, if not all, Shiba Inu.Apply to adopt Sarabi or one of her pups at www.heartofthefoothills.org/adoptAn approved application is required to schedule a meet and greet, but does not commit you to adopting. If you are interested in adopting this animal please fill out an application at heartofthefoothills.org/adopt. Not good with dogs,
Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 6/24/2022 Reason for being in rescue: Charlotte was found as a stray in a small neighborhood near Charlotte NC.  The finder posted her on Next Door and several people reached out stating they knew Charlotte and  her owner and that Charlotte had been getting a bath and managed to sneak out of the yard.  But....despite repeated attempts to reach the people who reportedly owned her, no one has come forward.  We contacted the registered owner of Charlotte's microchip next.  It is a rescue in Charlotte.  They believe they paid for her spay and microchip through a community outreach program but could not locate records to tell us more.   Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? None noted.  Please note that Charlotte appears spayed but we do not have documentation on this.  Based on the looks of her abdomen we believe she is spayed.  Charlotte had awful skin when she came to us but clean conditions, an indoor living environment, a good diet and regular baths have cleared her skin quite a bit.   Weight: 41 lbs Height: 20 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Charlotte needs a home with a fenced in yard so she can enjoy the enjoy the fresh air. While Charlotte is not a high energy gal, she does love to go on long strolls with her person. She needs someone willing to grab their walking shoes, and go exploring with her daily. She can be dog selective.  There is no rhyme or reason to her selection process either, so being the only dog is ideal.  What is my personality like? Charlotte is a strong, independent lady! She enjoys going for walks, but likes to be the one who is guiding you instead of the other way around. She goes where her nose takes her, which can lead to some interesting adventures. She could benefit from obedience training to let her know who is really "the boss." She will try to convince you to keep walking when she knows it's almost over with her big, sad, puppy dog eyes. She may forgive you for ending the walk, if you let her sunbathe afterwards. This girl would stay outside all day sniffing and enjoying the scenery if you let her have her way. Charlotte loves food and people, so obviously her favorite person is the food fairy in her life! She loves her people and will shower them with affection as long as you will let her. She is a happy go lucky girl that would make a wonderful best friend! How do I act when I first meet new people? Charlotte is a people "person" if we ever saw one. She will lean into anyone just to get a pet or two. Other tips and tidbits: Charlotte was found as a stray so we have no history on her. We celebrate her birthday as Feb 14, 2016.  We came up with this date because the only known date is when she was spayed and microchipped in February of 2018.  We're assuming she was a young adult when this was done so gave her an age of 2 years old at that time.  She acts and looks about like a mature dog of 6 years old but please note this is just a guess.  Charlotte knows the commands Sit, Down, and Paw. She can pull some on a leash so a harness is suggested. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. July 26, 2024, 12:41 pm
