Story
Meet Dashiell — “Dash” to his friends!Dash is a 2-year-old, 21-pound Basenji mix who’s equal parts energetic adventurer and affectionate lap dog. He’s easy-going, fine being left alone during the day, and happiest when he’s running, exploring, or snuggling with his people.&#226&#173&#144 Temperament & TrainingDash is house-trained, eager to please, and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement. He walks daily and is improving with leash manners—especially around other dogs. He’s still young and learning but makes progress quickly.&#226&#173&#144 Living With DashDogs: Yes. He enjoys other dogs but may guard high-value chews.Cats: Unsure—may chase a running cat.Kids: Best with older children.Crate: Not crate trained but settles fine when left alone.Exercise: High! Needs daily activity and an active family.Home Type: Has done well in a townhouse but needs plenty of exercise. Loves to run and has great off-leash recall.&#226&#173&#144 Quirks & HabitsDash may steal unattended food or chew things when under-exercised, but he loves appropriate chew toys and happily surrenders them to people. He’s also a big sunbather and entertains himself by tossing toys in the air.&#226&#173&#144 Why You’ll Love HimDash is the perfect small adventure buddy—always ready to hike, run, or travel, then curl up for cuddles afterward. Sweet, playful, and full of heart, he’s truly a delight. If you’re looking for a fun, high-energy companion, Dash might be your perfect match. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
I've had him since he was 8 weeks! He turns 4 in a few days and my new job is requiring more time of me than I give to him. He is a total affection monster and LOVES licks/kisses. He LOVES kick ball and keep away. He can take some time to get warmed up to other dogs and occasionally can be suspicious of new people. But once he's warmed up, he's begging for all the attention. My dog groomer/sitter has informed me that he's very good with her newborn and watches over him and loves on him gently. He also has a strange love of cats.
