The Dynamic Duo: Sunny & Celeste
Some dogs have a way of walking straight into your heart and setting up camp. Meet Sunny and Celeste, a bonded pair who have survived a difficult past only to emerge as the two most trusting, affectionate souls you’ll ever encounter. They don’t just want to be near you—they want to be your shadow, your lap-warmers, and your very best friends.
Meet the Girls
Sunny (Yorkie/mix): Sunny is the golden light of the pair. She is the definition of a "comfort dog"—gentle, incredibly soft, and always ready to tuck herself into your arms for a snuggle.
Celeste (Shih Tzu/Poodle mix): Celeste is a tiny masterpiece. She often looks like a stoic little gargoyle perched on a cathedral, quietly observing the world with "ancient" intensity. Don't let the serious face fool you; she is a professional cuddler who will stare into your soul until you realize her rightful place is in your lap.
The "Crab-Walk" Wonder
Celeste has a unique way of getting around! Due to long-term luxating patellas, her body has adapted by developing a signature "crab-walk." Our vet has confirmed she isn’t in any pain—she just has her own special rhythm. While she thinks she’s a champion jumper, she does best in a home with minimal stairs or a human who doesn’t mind "valet service" (scooping her up and carrying her to her next perch). She’s very portable and loves the extra attention!
Life with the Ladies
Together, they are a package deal of pure devotion. Whether you’re moving to the couch or heading out for a drive, they are right there with you.
The Co-Pilots: They take their travel duties seriously and will happily try to claim the front seat. They’ll need a secured car seat or harness to keep their "hostile takeover" attempts safe and sound!
The Social Circle: They get along famously with other small dogs. As for cats? Let’s just say they fancy themselves as feline private investigators. They enjoy a good "chase," so any resident cats should be bold enough to handle their enthusiastic interrogations.
The Spa Treatment: After a period of being overlooked, these girls are learning the joys of being pampered. They are making wonderful progress with house training and will need a family committed to a regular, gentle grooming schedule to keep them feeling like the royalty they are.
The Ideal "Furever" Home
Sunny and Celeste are looking for their "Retirement Era"—a calm, patient sanctuary where they will never have to wonder if they are loved again.
Compatibility: Great with small dogs; cats must be dog-savvy; best in a home without small children.
Energy Level: Low-key, cuddly, and calm.
Special Request: A family with a "lap-first" policy. If you sit, they fit!
Adoption Note: Sunny and Celeste are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They’ve spent their lives looking out for one another, and we intend to keep it that way.
Sunny is a Yorkie/mix who was was born approximately 2-1-20 and currently weighs 9 lbs. Celeste is a ShihTzu/Poodle who was born approximately 2-1-20 and weighs 12 lbs. They are spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given heartworm/flea/tick preventative, and had a dental cleaning. Adoption fee is $700 as a bonded pair to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
