Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $250 if picked up in TN, $325 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Hattie is a sweet, affectionate girl who just wants to be close to her people and follow their lead. This one-year-old Doodle mix weighs 57 pounds and has a playful, loving personality that shines once she feels secure and included. She is a people pleaser at heart and thrives with patience, guidance, and lots of attention. Hattie is a fast learner who already knows sit, place, and stay, and she is making great progress with house training when let out regularly. She settles well in her crate and enjoys routines that help her feel safe and confident. She loves squishy, squeaky toys and is happiest when she can cuddle up close, offering hugs and soaking up affection. She does great with other dogs and cats and truly enjoys having animal companions around. Hattie walks nicely on a leash and loves car rides, making her an easy partner for outings and everyday adventures. She does startle easily at times, and because she is missing an eye that is still healing and can cause occasional discomfort, she may give a brief warning growl if surprised. With patience, consistency, and understanding, she continues to build confidence and trust. Hattie would do best in a home where someone is around often and actively involved in her care, ideally with another friendly dog for companionship. She is not a dog who wants to be alone for long periods and will thrive in a home that values closeness, routine, and gentle guidance. If you think Hattie could be the loving, loyal companion your home is missing, please contact us for more information.    Interested in adopting? (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. January 22, 2026, 10:18 am

Story
Pierre was saved from an Alabama Puppy Mill just over a year ago. He was so matted he could not even walk. We are just guessing on breed mix and do not make any claims of him being hypoallergenic. He will required regular grooming about every 8 weeks. Today Pierre enjoys going outside and sitting in the sun, sleeping on the end of the bed and he has to get is morning petting in before my feet hit the floor. We have no idea how old Pierre is, his teeth were so bad none of the vets could give us an age, we are guessing 8+ years old. He is heartworm negative, neutered, chipped, current on vaccinations, preventions and just had a dental cleaning done. Pierre has been through so much, we have no idea how long he lived that horrific life, but what we do know is he will never live it again. So we are looking for a patient person / family who has a quiet lifestyle to match his personality. He comes with some quirks which should be expected based on his history. I have a doggy door, so he is used to using it to go outside but he may never be fully potty trained, but currently with using the doggy door he goes out at least 90% of the time. This is a sweet boy who just wants to be safe and loved and I will keep looking until we can find that for him. He is not leash trained, we have fenced yards and he loves going out and being in the yard unrestricted to wander as he sees fit in a safe space. Please feel free to reach out with any other questions. He has not been cat tested and I would not place him with small children, they may just be a little too much for him. He has done well with the other foster dogs in his area with no issues, he tends to keep to himself. Pierre is being fostered in Cookeville, TN. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in applying to adopt Pierre, you need to fill out our adoption application is that is on our website, that is the first step in our process. The application can be found at https://safehaventn.com/applications-and-forms/adoption-application/ . Thank you!
