Though he may be small, this little guy has a giant appetite for attention, snuggles, zoomies and friendship! Alex is a very special 3-year-old Shih Tzu cross looking for a new beginning where he can be the centre of someone's world once again. Alex, though a spring chicken in age and at heart, has had some health complications in his short life. This cuddle monster has been undergoing veterinary care since his arrival, including allergy management, a neuter and cherry-eye surgery. Through it all, Alex's spirit has remained unbreakable, and finally, this sweet boy has reached a place in his health journey where he can join a loving home and enjoy the years to come. Alex currently on an allergy -friendly weight-loss plan and will need support to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle.Alex came from circumstances where he had never spent abundant time alone. He will require very patient, experienced, and understanding adopters to help him with separation anxiety. Alex is best suited to a home with no other animals - in his ideal world, all the attention goes to him! Prospective adopters should be experienced with dogs with medical and dietary needs as well as separation anxiety. Meet Scarlette ❤️ Scarlette is a sweet little Shih Tzu weighing 17 lbs, and we're estimating her to be around 4 years old. Her teeth suggest she may be closer to 6, but as with many rescue dogs, her exact age is just our best guess. Not to worry though, Miss Scarlette will be scheduled to get those teeth all pearly white real soon. Scarlette is a happy little girl who loves being near her people, following them around the house and happily flopping down for a good sploot. She may seem pretty relaxed most of the time, but call her name and you'll see her transform into a bouncy, joyful little girl who is SO happy to see you! She loves running around and bouncing, and she has a serious love for snacks. Food is definitely one of her favourite things. 😂 Scarlette does well with calm dogs and would love a peaceful home with people who will give her time to settle in and feel comfortable. She walks nicely on leash and is crate trained, although she'd much rather be out with her people. Her housetraining is still a work in progress, so her new family will need to be patient and consistent while she learns. She is currently untested with cats and children, so we're looking for calm, respectful introductions. Scarlette is a sweet little shadow with a happy heart, a playful side, and a whole lot of love to give. ❤️

Meet Levi There's no shortage of personality in this little guy! Levi, also known as Leroy (which means "King"), is a 1.5-year-old, 15 lb possibly a Cocker Spaniel/Shih Tzu mix with a big personality packed into a little body. Levi is a fun-loving, happy guy who wants to be right in the middle of whatever is happening. He loves attention, loves to be watched while he entertains himself, and is highly food motivated, if he hears a bag, he's pretty sure it means dinner is being served! He loves playing with other dogs and has done well with small and medium-sized dogs. He would enjoy having another dog to play with, with proper introductions. He also really enjoys older kids, but because he's still very much in his puppy stage and likes to nibble on hands and fingers, he isn't suited to very young children. Levi has been excellent in the house and hasn't had any accidents indoors. He has even learned to sit by the sliding door when he needs to go out. He is also great in his kennel, with just a few minutes of whining before settling in to entertain himself or have a nap. He walks nicely on leash now, although he can show some frustration and may become a little protective or unsure when out and about. He will need continued work and confidence-building to help him feel more comfortable and confident on leash. Levi is medium-high to high energy when he's up and ready to go, but he's also a champion napper. He loves chews and toys, and surprisingly knows that stuffies are for playing with, not destroying. Levi is a sweet, silly, food-loving little guy who is always ready to be part of the action. He's looking for a family who will continue his training, build his confidence and enjoy all the fun that comes with this little King.

Meet Milo! Milo is an adorable 1.5-year-old Shih Tzu weighing just 3.5 lbs. This little gentleman may be a bit shy when meeting new people, but beneath his reserved exterior is a sweet, affectionate pup who loves nothing more than cuddling close to his favorite humans. Milo was rescued from a hoarding situation in Mexico, where he didn't receive the individual love and attention every dog deserves. Since his rescue, he has been discovering how wonderful life can be and is learning to trust and enjoy being part of a family. Once he feels comfortable, Milo's loving personality truly shines. He is gentle, loyal, and happiest when he is being showered with affection or snuggled up beside you. He would do best with a patient family willing to give him the time he needs to settle in and build confidence. Milo gets along well with other dogs and would fit in nicely into a home with a canine companion. We haven't had the opportunity to test him with cats yet.
