You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Trudy, Trudy, Trudy    This lovable twenty-five pound female answers to Trudy but her real name is Gertrude.  She is approximately seven years young and trying to enjoy her puppy hood again for the first time.  She apparently had a rough start to her life and is very appreciative of a safe and comfortable home.  Trudy is respectful of her surroundings and obedient to common commands.  Trudy is mostly house-trained and sleeps well in her own little 'room'.   This little girl loves to take walks and is just as eager to get back to her home.  She walks well on a leash usually a few steps in front with the minor distractions of interesting aromas as she strays from the path.  She seemed to experience the great outdoors for the first time or at least recently and she is a pleasure to watch as she learns her environment.  She is indifferent to cats but plays with other dogs well.Adoption Fee $200.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 5:47 pm

Calling All Cranky Little Dog Lovers! Meet Peanut.....Sometimes we call him Mr. Crabby Pants. This adorable chubby came to us as an owner surrender. They gave him up because he hated the husband...Turns out, Peanut hates most everyone....Until he trusts you. Then you are gold....Until he decides your not. 😉 Peanut seems to think the world revolves around him, and it kind of does. Some cool things about Peanut. Housebroken/crate trained Loves car rides. Is a great office companion. Good sleeping buddy. Doesn't mind cats but will growl, bark and might chase. Loves his person as long as they don't stare at him too much or try to take his picture. He HATES his picture taken. Weird things about Peanut. He gets all mad for a second for no apparent reason. Would rather not be around other dogs. Likes to follow you into the bathroom. HATES his picture taken. (weird huh?) We think Peanut would be a great companion for a single person or cranky dog savvy couple with a quiet lifestyle. Kids are too much for Peanut...He hates them too. Peanut is approx. 8/9 yrs old and weighs 18 lbs. He is neutered had a recent dental and is up to date on all his vaccines and testing. His Ohio tag is included with his adoption. Applications can be found at bchsohio.org or just come to the shelter to pick one up. Peanut is in foster but meet and greets can easily be arranged.

Meet Toby! Toby is estimated to be about 3 years old and a shih tzu/ terrier mix weighing about 15lbs.  Toby is very sweet and loves to cuddle. He is pretty calm and chill and wants to be around his people. He is potty trained and walks well on a leash.  He doesn’t like storms or really any loud noise and jumps into your lap for protection.  Does not do well in crate but doesn’t need to be crated at night or when you’re gone.  He is good with other dogs but does need a slow introduction as barking/ excited dogs are a bit overwhelming.  As most little dogs who have a bit of a rough start, he can be a bit nippy so we don’t recommend him in house with small children. He is okay with children visiting and will let you know when he needs space before reacting.  He’s learning to play and is getting more playful everyday but he’s also thrilled just to sit and chill near his people!  April 26, 2024, 9:57 pm
