Story
Rolo is a pretty little shih tzu puppy, born 6/6/25.  He has puppy papers to be registered with ACA (American Canine Association.)  He was born in a commercial kennel, then consigned to a dog breeder auction as a prospective stud dog.  Instead, he was purchased into rescue so he can spend his life on a couch rather than in a breeder's pen. He is a sweet, playful puppy who gets along well with other dogs.  He is microchipped and has been vaccinated and wormed.  He weighed 11 pounds 11 ounces on 11/24/25. Because he is not quite old enough to neuter, he will be placed with a neuter contract.  When proof of surgery has been received, adopter will be mailed a rebate check for $50.00 His adoption fee is $450.00 If you would like to adopt Rolo, email me at thistle88@centurytel.net and request an application.November 25, 2025, 12:29 pm

Story
3/20/25 Roberta is a very sweet girl that prefers to snooze in her crate. Roberta gets along with all the other dogs here, whether they are small or large. Roberta needs a fenced yard as she does not know how to walk on a leash. She is due for a dental next month, and we will also have the vet do a good physical on her at that time. 10/23/24 We can't believe Roberta is still here. Someone, PLEASE give her a home of her own! Roberta is a 9 year old gold and white Shih Tzu weighing about 11 pounds. She came to us a year ago, and she likes to think she's in charge. This girlie loves to be out in the back fenced yard, monitoring the other dogs and the neighborhood. She likes to find a sunny spot to catch some sun, then moves to a cool spot to enjoy the breeze. She's still working on her house training and relaxing around people. Roberta gets along with the other dogs here and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She needs her own family that can help her learn all the secrets of being a family member in a home. To inquire about Roberta, please complete an application FIRST, at www.bongosbuddiesrescue.com. UPDATE - 10/14/25 /Roberta recently had her vaccinations updated and at her visit the vet told us to continue waiting on doing a dental. She had lost a couple of her bad teeth, and the vet said at this age, she'd prefer to not do a dental on her as her tarter is not a concern at this time. Her sight is dimming, but there is nothing our vet thinks is a concern with her aging. She's a sweet girl that really wants little from her humans other than trips out to potty, 2 meals a day, and a treat at bedtime. She prefers to spend her time in her bed with little attention from her humans as many former breeder dogs do.

Story
We have the Three Amigos who joined our rescue a few months ago. They were found covered in ticks and abandoned in the woods. Their initial vetting has been completed. We have DNA tested them, and Steve, Chevy, and Martin are brothers - mainly a mix of Shih Tzu, Chihuahua, and Bichon Frise. They really would enjoy either a house with a young dog that likes to run and play, or the best option would be that they were adopted together. But we know that is asking a lot. These boys sleep quietly in their crates at night and are learning to accept human attention, settling in for a short time on your lap. They have LOTS of ENERGY and need a securely fenced area to run and chase and play. We have not walked them on a leash, so a fenced yard is a must. They are waiting for their Person to see them and give them a home.
